2026 Hybrid SX-Prestige OEM Tires

So I got our Kia in July and I just noticed the tires are some strange brand I've never heard of called Maxxis, I think. The car also included an odd tire warranty brochure for them that just seems suspect.

Are these the original tires or did the dealer perhaps swap them for some reason?

Cargo mats 2026 SX-Prestige

I have Tuxmats for the seat areas and love them but their cargo mats don't fit the SX due to the sound system difference in that model. I also don't really like the idea of cutting existing mats.

Does anyone make cargo (and back of seat covers optimally) that are made specifically for the SX and are solid quality?

How Much to Replace 112v Nut?

I just got my 112V and learning to play. I did, on the recommendation of a friend, also order a Graph Tech TUSQ XL and am interested in getting it installed properly. I watched a video to do it and I don't really have the confidence (or tools). What's a typical charge for getting this done at a repair shop?

Guitar Tricks Basic Question

So, just picked up a guitar and got a nice offer on Guitar Tricks so I jumped in. I have the app on an Android tablet as I'm older and wouldn't be able to see much on my phone. The process is just a day old and I'm about 20 videos in, but there's one thing that's quite confusing:

I've left the app to go take a break and return a few times and each time it seems like it has NO idea where I left off, basically dropping me back in at the main menu. I then dig back down and it does denote that I watched, say, "1 of 6 videos" in a specific section, but there's nothing at the top of the app to let you know where you are, or a way to jump back in where you left off. I end up having to reload the main section and then skip through any previously viewed videos of that specific section.

Is this a bug, a lack of a feature, or am I missing something? I am logged in.

Full movies on it? When?

So I subscribe to YouTubeTV mainly to just cover some sports and some live news, but recently my wife wanted to see Moonstruck (Cher and Nicholas Cage). I went to a search engine to find out which service it might be on and it was a "Buy Now" everyone BUT YouTubeTV where it was free.

I was rather confused by this as I couldn't figure out how it was there. I didn't record it and it's been there for several days so it's not as if we just caught it live. I was surprised to find that it felt.... edited in a couple spots. I curse was clearly bleeped and there was some very strange cut points so I assumed this might be where a commercial might go, but no commercial played (I do have YouTube Premium if that somehow matters).

So how did this show up as from this service and what are the limitations?

In late September/Early October Good?

We're thinking of heading here for the first time and wondering if this is a good time to visit. Our main goals would be to be awed by the natural scenery, to possibly see the Aurora Borealis and to head to several different areas after a short (like a day or two) in Oslo over, perhaps a two week or so visit.

Is this good for lessening the crowds, etc?

Thanks.

2026 Hybrid Oil Change Timing?

Okay, I've gathered all the necessary items (ramps/jack stands, 0w-20 synthetic oil, Kia filters, etc) and am ready to change the oil myself, but the question remains -- when to do the first one.

I'm at about 1,000 miles now and I see people saying I should have done it already and a LOT more seemingly informed people saying that this is just dated thinking and that I should just wait for 5,000 miles to do the first one.

I'm so torn. I can't imagine it doing any harm to change it now, but maybe I'm not understanding something about this engine?

Plex Server, but local files on Phone?

(PlexPass owner) I just re-discovered Plexamp for a desired use and like what I'm seeing so far. Here's my question:

I have a Plex server at home that works great. However, I also have every single one of those songs mirrored on my phone (though currently the server files are FLAC and the phone is MP3, but could easily change that to FLAC if it helps here). I'm wondering if it's possible to set up Plexamp so that on my desktop, laptop, etc., plays from the server (that's working already), BUT my phone plays from the files on my phone BUT ALSO still counts that as the same so that "Recently Played" and playcounts, etc., all feed back to the server. In other words, I don't want essentially a neutered implementation on my phone, but feel like the phone should play the local files which really helps with issues using Android Auto and such when mobile data is sketchy.

Thanks.

Proving Santiago <-> Sydney flights

So, as we've all seen many times, flat-earther's refuse to believe:

A) that this flight exists;

B) that if it exists you can't actually book it;

C) that if you can actually book it, it won't actually take off;

D) that if it does actually take off, it doesn't actually go to the intended destination;

E) that if it does actually go to the other destination, that it doesn't do it non-stop in anywhere near 12-13 hours.

This is a belief (or beliefs) that are as entrenched as a 24-hour sun in Antarctica not being possible. I believe this can be proven without someone actually taking the trip.

Both airports have various webcams that could show (perhaps even including the tail number) the plane taxiing at one airport (I THINK Santiago even has cameras on the runways) and taking off and then we can see the data on Flightaware showing the details of the flight and then, finally, we can use the webcams of the other airport to show the plane at the other airport 12-13 hours later.

Now, we all know these deniers will all just say the webcam data is CGI, or using fake dates/times, two planes with the same tail number, etc., but I think it would be great to have this information just to raise the bar even more.

The biggest challenge I see is the spotty nature of webcams. Sydney, for example, has been working great this whole month, but stopped suddenly on Tuesday.

2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige Trim (unique)

I picked up Tux mats for the front and back seats of this SUV and they're WONDERFUL. So perfectly designed (thanks). However, they do not currently sell mats for the cargo area, but I've seen people claiming they are coming (possibly as soon as August). This is also tricky as the SX-Prestige trim is different from the others due to speakers in that trim level that take up some space in the cargo area.

Is there a way to find out if these are coming? I'm trying to hold off on buying a competing product, but don't want to wait for an extended period only to find these aren't coming.

Thanks. I also tried emailing Tux, but got no reply.

Confusion with SCC (2026 Hybrid SX-Prestige)

So I just got to the point where I can finally try out SCC and I'm confused about a few things with it and want to clarify another thing:

  1. Sometimes when I have it on the car will come to a complete stop and when the car in front of me pulls away, it will automatically start moving again on its own, but at other times, it'll stop and then switch to tell me I need to use "the shifter" (still not sure which one as I've tried both with no luck) or the pedal to start moving. Why is this difference happening?

  2. I read a lot about it braking to deal with curves where the speed is lower, but I've yet to see it actually slow down at all on any curve. I also wonder if that is supposed to include, for example, taking a typical exit off a highway where curves are usually taken at much lower speeds. So far, I'd be taking that curve at 65 if I didn't manually slow down.

  3. Does being in NAV mode impact the system at all or is it just telling me it's in NAV mode in green on the hud and dash) for the heck of it, but doesn't actually use it in any way?

Cargo Liner 2026 Hybrid SX-Prestige?

I just ordered and received the WeatherTech liner for the cargo area and, much to my surprise, it doesn't fit. It has some sort of extra-wide flap on the right side that my vehicle doesn't seem to have.

I got TuxMats for the front and second row areas -- and they're PERFECT -- but they don't seem to sell cargo area mats for whatever reason (maybe for this confusion).

I'm going to GUESS that, because this is the SX-Prestige trim, that the Harmon Kardon system causes a change to the rear cargo area as there is a speaker housing in that space on my vehicle that I'm guessing just isn't there at all on other trims so they just free up the space?

Does anyone know if that guess is right and if anyone sells cargo mats that fit right?

Automatic braking? 2026 Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige

I'm getting used to the car, but some things keep alluding my grasp. For example, a lot of videos I watched made a huge deal about how good the car is at basically making it VERY hard to hit something saying the car automatically will brake to keep you from hitting something in front of you.

I'm been driving in essentially Baby mode or Eco mode and often turn on the Lane Assist feature and the Auto brake regen feature. I have noticed that as I get near cars in front of me the car does hit the brake, but it does not seem as if it would ever stop before hitting the car. I've gotten to within inches of the car in front of me and had to manually apply the brakes.

Is there some setting I might be missing? My braking on this feature is set to Standard (not Late).

Oil Changes Question (and feeling about one shop) New 2026 Hybrid

So I've been thinking about my old-school thinking on oil changes and someone recommended a shop that does mobile repair work to do it saying the research each car, etc., and do great work. I decided to email the shop to see what they had to say about getting the oil changed at 1,000 miles and what it might cost.

The guy wrote back and asked for the VIN. Good start. He then sent an estimate and I don't get it based on what I'm reading. I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts on it are.

He said Kia specifically says you no longer should replace your oil at 1,000 miles and to just get it done at 8,000 miles. He then listed some details:

- 5 Quarts STP 5W30 Synthetic Motor Oil $45

Two issues here for me. First, this is more than twice the going price I'm seeing, and second, everything I'm seeing in the manual says to use 0W20.

- Inspect and test battery and charging system $69

The car is brand new. Why would it even make sense to check the battery and charging system?

- Scan Check Engine Light $23

There is no check engine light, so does this make sense?

- Multipoint safety inspection $23

Just sounds like a charge for next to nothing.

Am I wrong on all this?

UWB on phone stopped working?

Has anyone experienced this issue? I was setup with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra) as a digital key and it worked in UWB mode so that the phone unlocked the door as I approached it and started the car with the phone in my pocket.

While trying to get my wife's phone working right, I undid the digital keys and started over and now my phone won't unlock the door without my manually selecting unlock from the app and it will only start the car by putting the phone on the wireless charger (clearly it's in NFC mode).

The phone hasn't changed at all as it literally worked on Friday, but not Saturday.

Husband/Wife drivers and the Kia Access App

Okay, this is driving me bonkers. What is the correct setup for two drivers of the same car in this app?

The account is in my name/email. The dealership said to just have my wife log into the app as me, but then it seemed to possibly conflict with the concept of the User Profiles and such. There is some mention that the key used gets tied to the User Profile to know which profile to load automatically each entry.

It would be a bummer if, every time my wife uses her phone to get in, that it automatically loads my profile.

So I had her create her own Access account and linked to the vehicle. It then complains that she is not the owner, so I make her a secondary driver. That seems to work, but then she cannot create her own key. I have to Share a key with her and it seems that's MY key and thus, I'm again likely what the system sees as the person entering the car.

This should not be this complicated.

Driver 1 & 2 buttons and User Profiles

I THINK I may have had a misconception and wanted to make sure I get this correctly:

My wife and I each have Infotainment User Profiles in each of our names. We also have our desired seat setup and mirrors, etc., tied to a specific Driver button on the driver door.

Are these things mutually exclusive or tied together? I ASSUMED Driver 1 was tied to Profile 1 and Driver 2 would be tied to Profile 2 (and any beyond that are just not tied to a button), but now I'm thinking these two things have nothing to do with each other.

So, if my wife gets in the car after I'm in it, do I understand that even those her User Profile will get loaded (because her phone unlocked the door), that she will need to hit her physical Driver button to get the seats/mirrors the way she wants?

I'm a bit confused by this because when I switch User Profiles, the seats and mirrors DO move. Oddly confusing for what it is.

Anyone Buy Shark Racing's Proximity Smart Door Lock Module?

Just got my 2026 Sportage Hybrid SX-Prestige and am dumbfounded that it doesn't have auto door locking on walk-away.... Why not also not include wipers or seats? Geez.

Anyway, I looked at the Ioniq Guy product to fix this, but it appears it only works with the 2026 PHEV in two trims and nothing else.

Looking to see how people got on with it. Thanks.
