Rounded corners after using Multiview.

Rounded corners after using Multiview.

Running on the latest Apple TV 4K model, I have noticed that in last week or so every time I enter multiview I get rounded corners on the fullscreen. This wouldn't really bother me or have been noticed except for the fact that in the background of anything that is dark, is a light gray layer. It's especially noticeable when there's only 2 windows in a Multiview.

Also lately my Multiview completely breaks down when I create a custom one. As soon as I go full screen on one program and back out to the Multiview window, it breaks and brings up the guide.

Please tell me someone else is experiencing this as well.

sorting my library recordings by date?

I realize there's a 9-month expiration date on most recorded shows in my library. So I'm wondering how can I easily tell which recordings are almost expired? Is there an easy simple way to sort recordings BY DATE? All I see are sorting alphabetically or by movie, sports, etc? I forget when I record movies and hate to lose something. Thanks.

Where is the Senior U S open

Where is the U.S. senior open that is in my guide? Instead I get a baseball game that, not only, is not in my guide, but I don’t care about. This is a major tournament for the seniors, on a course that we never get to see. Seriously?!!!

Does anyone know how I accidentally did this on Apple TV? I haven't been able to replicate it.

I would absolutely love to have more than 4 channels visible at one time on the guide.

Can anyone confirm that the world cup matches are in 4K in YouTubeTV?

Just got off chatting with Fox One support. They started with 4k streams for the world cup but about 10 days back faced technical issues and suspended 4k streams on most platforms aside from AppleTv, Roku and Vizio. Unfortunately I have LG Tv and not getting 4k streams on Fox One anymore. So I am thinking of switching to YouTubeTv now for the rest of the games. Can anyone confirm that YouTubeTV is giving 4K streams? Do I need to get the 4k addon?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone using YoutubeTv for World Cup?

I signed up for a 21 day trial (never used it before) to watch remaining games using the standard plan, watching on a fire stick 4k

  • why is the quality so bad?? its all in 720p but looks far worse than the broadcast on tv! I dont even see an option for 1080p/4k
  • is there a world cup hub where you can see/follow teams, replays etc? I see a bunch of fifa world cup live today entries from Fox
  • there doesn't seem to be a easy way to see replays. I can't see replays from yesterday eg, only 2 days ago I just want a list of all completed matches

edit - thanks to replies, I installed Fox One app. its so much better, 4k for free, and a hub with highlights, scores, replays etc

Is anyone else's TV getting stuck on commercials?

For about the past week every so often when the TV gets to a commercial it just gets stuck on a commercial and the audio and video repeat over and over in 1 second intervals. The screen pops up a little message that says "Loading...". It's not an internet problem because none of my other services are doing it. It's starting to become very frustrating.

4k frame drops on YTTV on Fire Cube 4k

I'm seeing massive frame drops when I watch 4k content, but it ONLY happens when I use the YTTV app for Fire Cube. The one built into my TV's OS looks beautiful, and the other apps like Netflix do 4k content just fine on Fire Cube. It only seems to be the combination of YTTV and Fire Cube. I've tweaked every setting possible on both the Fire Cube and the TV, to no avail. If I disable "HDMI ultra-HD deep color" on the HDMI port via the TV settings it stops, but that forces it down to 1080p. Changing the video to 1080p within the app also stops it from happening, but the point is to try and watch it in 4k. Short of just using the LG app to watch 4k content, has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?

Location won't "stick" ...

I have my brother as a family member on YouTube TV. We live in the same house - he lives downstairs and I live upstairs. We both access YTTV via our computers, not a mobile device, not a SmartTV. We are both use the same internet provider.

Recently, local TV stations are locked for him. I'm having no issues whatsoever with YTTV. Local stations are not locked for me.

YTTV says his location needs to be updated, even though when you look at his location after clicking his avatar, it shows the same city and zip code as what my location says. When he "updates" his location, then the local channels unlock. When he exits YTTV and then opens it again, the local channels are once again locked.

His default browser is Chrome, and is up to date. He has tried also using Brave and Firefox, to rule out a browser issue but faces the same scenario.

The only difference I can think of is that I am using Windows 10 and he uses Windows 11. Obviously, we both use our own computers.

Yesterday, I went through the mechanics of literally "updating" my location although it's accurate. I also removed my daughter from the family plan since she moved out and can no longer access YTTV from her location.

Any ideas? My brother literally has to click numerous times before he can watch local stations!

EDITED TO ADD: This is a recent development. There have been no issues with this set up for the past 3+ years. It just started happening about a week or so ago and now is a daily occurence.

What do we think is the likelihood?

Of YTTV adding channels like A&E, Vice TV, and H&I?

I know about the request link.

But still.

Add on: at the end of this, my parents (70) and I are ditching cable tv for this.

We’ll probably go to Philo and YTTV.

I’ve had YouTube tv for several years, why was it so expensive?

4K Problems

You guys are making me mad right now. The 4K Fox channel has been in and out of commission since the beginning of the World Cup! Fix this, it’s ridiculous!

And yes, I know I can stream through the Fox app. I gave access to that to my best friend and shouldn’t need to use it. YTTV should be working. And no, I don’t care if logging him in broke a “rule”. If your service worked, I wouldn’t have ever even known the Fox One app was an option. He’d be over at my place watching the game on YTTV!

YouTube TV DVR continues to spoil World Cup matches through recording length and extra time

This has been a long-standing issue and feature request, but with the World Cup underway I’m hoping it finally gets some attention from the team at YouTube TV.

Yesterday, recorded World Cup matches spoiled the endings of both Germany vs. Paraguay and Morocco vs. Netherlands.

Because both matches went to extra time, the DVR timeline itself became a spoiler:

In the Germany match, you could immediately tell nobody scored in the final minutes of regulation because the recording clearly extended well beyond the 90-minute mark.

Even worse, in the Morocco match, the extended runtime effectively spoiled that an equalizer was coming late, because there was obviously too much time left in the recording for the match to end as-is.

For a product that does such a good job with DVR functionality and sports viewing overall, this remains a surprisingly glaring issue.

There has to be a better solution here. Maybe an option to hide total recording length until playback is complete, obscure the progress bar during stoppage time and extra time, or dynamically mask the endpoint for live sporting events.

Sports are one of YouTube TV’s biggest strengths. But for recorded matches, the timeline itself shouldn’t be giving away the result.

Is YouTube tv worth it in our case?

Hello me and gf age 25 are moving into new apartment. We will have Netflix for sure and maybe Amazon prime. I still wanna be able to have live tv in the form of the nation Channels like abc, fox, nbc stuff like mostly for live sports. I was thinking of getting YouTube tv is that our best bet? We don’t really watch live tv besides those main channels for certain big live events or sports games. Everything else we use streaming for the most part

YoutubeTV flickering

Has anyone else experienced random screen flickering in the last few days? I’ve noticed it most during World Cup broadcasts and the look is like internet buffering from the old days. I’m wondering if that’s the case or are we experiencing solar flare type disruptions of TV signals. It can get annoying and then just as randomly disappear for hours on end. Weird.

What happened to the 4K broadcast of the Mexico versus Ecuador for the World Cup? It just went away. So glad I pay for 4K.

Quick question

Just got YTTV, is it true that I can basically just click add to library on any show or movie I like and I'll have the full show eventually in a week or so and it's unlimited recordings? I heard it deleted after 9 months but that's still wild.

Looking to switch to YTTV from Xfinity

Hi all,

My wife and I live in the south-west burbs of Minneapolis, MN. We are considering switching to 5GB fiber that Nuvera is rolling out in our area, and cutting the Xfinity cord to switch to YTTV. We're a little concerned about the ease of entry into streaming only, and wanted to ask the community a few questions:

  1. With cable (xfinity) we have a tuner, and a remote, we turn on the TV, cable is on, we use the remote, we get channels - Is there any way that this similar experience with YTTV? What has worked for others?
  2. Do most people use a pver-the-air-tuner for local channels? or it looks like YTTV carries all our local channels too? Any benefits to get the tuner alongside? backup?
  3. Whats the consensus on the cloud DVR? Does everyone find it sufficient for recording needs - or do people consider alternatives like TiVo?
  4. Any other considerations or gotchas that we should think about prior to moving forward?

Thank you all for your help and feedback!
