So after a mid level tech support person told me they wouldn't escalate my repeated cablecard issues to engineering (a process I've been going though for the last several months), I cancelled my comcast service. I am trying youtube tv (which is not a good replacement for my cablecard rig). I had bookmarked a "complain to the SVP department". The response I got was nonsense. Specifically "but ongoing support for existing cable cards will not be available post-deadline".

When crap happens in my life I like to try not having that crap happen to other people. I had hoped I would get several months notice of end of cablecard support. I Live in a comcast desert so this was surprising. For the few remaining comcast cablecards users, good luck and don't expect comcast to give you fair warning of end of support.

I tried youtube tv a few years ago when in hospital. It was really good. Now that comcast has destroyed my local dvr setup, I'm back on youtube tv. What is different is that a few years ago when I added a show to my library, youtube tv would add all the previous shows. Now that doesn't happen. Why not? I've read that youtube tv only saves shows for 9 months. OK, I can add the 4k supplement that seems to allow me to save my favorite shows locally (gawd I miss 7MC). What am I not understanding?

Serious question. My money is good, I pay insane retail prices for 3 cablecard devices, and they torture me. I understand from other conversations that Comcast thinks they will make more money in the long term from faster Internet speeds, but in the current moment, why are they torturing their cablecard customers? Occasionally I interact with a cool CSR that fixes things, only to have Comcast nightly programs break the fixes.

I've been a Comcast customer for 9 years. Their pricing for cablecards has always been weird. Currently, in my area, they are "free". I have three of them. They killed two of them. I'm probably their only customer left in my community. I know, it's only a matter of time before moving onto something like youtube tv. I'm just curious about other people's experiences with Comcast and multiple cablecards.

Once again, you did "service" and stopped signal to my cable cards. off about 6pm last night, on about 10 am this morning. How can I get compensation for my lost video?

Hopefully we won't need so many teams in the future should anything else happen. Now there's a record though of what it took this time if it does though for us to follow on this platform.
