GM player aiming for ERL2/LFL Div 2 what actually matters to get noticed?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some honest advice from people who know the ERL/ERL2 scene, especially around France, Nexus League, aka LFL Division 2.
I don’t have team experience yet, but I peaked Grandmaster this season and I believe I can reach Challenger with serious work. My goal would be to try to get opportunities or tryouts around January next year, if that’s realistic.
I’m wondering what rank actually starts to make you credible for this level. Is being Challenger, or even around top 100, enough to get noticed without previous team experience? Or do teams usually care a lot about having been Challenger for multiple seasons?
I’m also thinking about how to make my profile more visible. Would sharing clips, VOD reviews, gameplay concepts, analysis, or specific plays help? I’ve developed some pretty niche ideas/concepts on my own, and I’m wondering if showing them publicly could work as a kind of portfolio to prove my understanding of the game.
I also wanted to ask about networking. Can reaching out directly to coaches, managers, or people already involved in the scene actually help you get into a team? For example, if I share my profile, op.gg, a few VODs, or some concepts I’ve worked on, could that help me get identified, receive guidance toward the right tryouts, or maybe get vouched for later if my profile becomes interesting?
One last important point: I’m currently studying engineering. Could having demanding studies on the side be seen as a disadvantage by teams, especially regarding availability, commitment, and flexibility for scrims or tryouts? Or can it still be fine if I show that I’m organized, serious, and able to follow a schedule?
I’d really appreciate any advice from players, coaches, managers, or anyone who has experience with this path. Even small practical tips would help a lot.
Thanks in advance!
