Just to highlight something positive for once: Nightmare Dungeons are actually fun now.
Despite all the valid criticism going around right now, I really feel like Nightmare Dungeons are finally hitting that sweet spot. I actually find myself really enjoying running them lately.
A few of the recent QoL changes have been fantastic. For example:
Animus Carriers: Dropping just a little bit more Animus than strictly required is great. If you miss one, it’s no longer the end of the world.
Extra Objectives: Placing 1 or 2 extra destructible structures on the map is such a good change. If you skip a side corridor or walk past one, you can still finish the dungeon without having to backtrack through the entire map.
Sure, there are still a handful of specific dungeons that could use another tuning pass, but overall, it feels right. The escalating NMD are a lot of fun and my personal favorite this season, and the rewards are definitely hitting the mark.
All in all, Nightmare Dungeons are in a super good place right now. I just wish they would finally give Infernal Hordes a similar overhaul to bring them up to this level of polish.
