Starting from today, xAI retired the Grok-Imagine-Image-Pro API (a far superior, higher quality, yet slower model) with some bullshit called Grok-Imagine-Image-Quality. The new "quality" model is worse at generating images and maintaining character consistency. The only saving grace is that it's cheaper and faster.

I really don't understand why they'd make such a decision. What's the harm in offering a better model via API to users who need and can pay for it? Releasing a good model then replacing it with a worse model for no reason sounds insane to me.
