O2 sensor questions.
I got a few questions regarding my car, I have a 2013 Kia Sorento 4-cylinder, 2.4l. My engine light came on yesterday, went to AutoZone and it spit out code P0036 which involves the oxygen sensor, and heater control circuit bank 1 sensor 2.
I'm a novice when it comes to vehicles, I can do the basics and try to do as much DIY as I can. From the sounds of this issue it seems like a somewhat simple fix. From my research the sensor 2 (downstream) should be located underneath the car after the catalytic converter. But there is no such thing.
My question is, from the attached photo above is the wire on top the downstream sensor? I know it's not the best photo. I found a YouTube video that has the same layout as my car, but I want to be 100% sure.
Another question is should I get this checked out by a legit mechanic? I know AutoZone tests are not full proof here. But I'm assuming a mechanic will charge me a diagnostic test. I would like to save as much money as possible and do it myself. Thank you.
