Do any of you guys know the process of seeking restitution from an individual? My car was stolen a few weeks ago and recovered a few days later about 250mi from where I live. The guy was a gangbanger bum and was taken into custody, released the same day. I have a beautiful insurance deductible of $2500. He punched out my ignition & steering column, smoked out in my car, trashed it, spit a loogie on the dash and halfway wrecked it. Not to mention he stole everything I had in it. I’ve kept my car in immaculate condition and taken care of this car so much just to have someone piss all over it. I’ve heard suing in civil court will probably be harder to recoup but if you go the restitution route you are more likely to be granted a judgement. I’m not looking for “pain & suffering”, just looking for this dude to pay back my deductible at the very least. Do any LEO’s know the process of seeking restitution or who I should contact to get this started? Thank you.

What advice would you have on financing a new car, in a “First time buyer” situation. I have bought all of my previous cars (used) in cash and have never wanted to go the financing route. My 2019 was recently stolen and am in a predicament where i need a vehicle to get to work and take care of life. What things can I do to ensure I get an approval at the dealership without racking up all kinds of inquires when I go. I have a thin credit profile. 1 student loan split up into 4 accounts totaling about $17,000 payed on monthly & 3 Credit cards that I pay off every month always reporting a $0 balance. Credit scores are around 730. Looking at cars $30,000-$40,000. What do auto finance companies want to see on a credit profile to ensure an approval with a low APR? Any advice will help!
