Supposed to donate in 4 days

I'm supposed to donate in 4 days and it's been such a rollercoaster to get to this point. I have everything tee'd up. I just had to do one last urine culture and it came back positive for alloscardovia omnicolens. Apparently this bacteria is a "good bacteria" but can create opportunities for a UTI to occur. I don't have any UTI symptoms.

Do you think this will delay surgery? I am so deflated.

Left kidney smaller than right

I had my FINAL appointment before approval and it didn't go exactly how I wanted.

So my left kidney is 9.2 pole to pole and my right is 11.3 so the difference in size is one worry and the fact that left is bigger than right is also a cause for pause on donation. However the left and right both function equally (L51%/ R49%)

I have made it so far and even the team of surgeons gave their OK that my left is operable.

Has anyone had this come up during evaluation? What was the outcome?

Holding back excitement and wanting reassurance

got a call today from my nurse on the transplant team following up on my question about having accessory arteries on both kidneys. She said she spoke with a surgeon this morning, and he was confident that my left kidney is operable. He also said the right is inoperable. I told her that was great news and asked, “So… is this a yes?”She said “kind of”—that this surgeon is comfortable with it, but other surgeons will still review the scans and could object at any point. She also reminded me that technically they can say no right up until I’m on the operating table.I’m just looking for some solidarity. I want to have a little celebratory moment and feel reassured, especially for my husband who is so unwell and really needs this. But now I’m stuck between hope and caution because of the way she phrased it.If you’ve donated before, was this your experience? Is this just the standard disclaimer they have to give? I’d love to hear from others who went through this stage

Help! Accessory arteries inboth kidneys

I am being evaluated under the southern Alberta transplant program. I just got this results uploaded to my healthcare app:

"The right kidney is nonrotated. There is a main solitary renal artery and a very small accessory renal artery. Right kidney measures 11.3 cm along its long axis.

There is a solitary left renal artery with a very tiny accessory renal artery. Left kidney measures 9.2 cm along its long axis.

Solitary collecting system bilaterally; however, the middle aspect was not well visualized."

So because I have an extra accessory artery in BOTH kidneys, do you think I am disqualified?? I am devastated and trying to be patient to hear the determination next Thurs but I can't wait, I'm going to drive myself crazy!!!

I am going through orthodontics treatment and my orthodontist didn't say I needed jaw surgery but had highlighted a number of issues and said she would write me a referral to a jaw surgeon (I can never remember the technical name). I always knew I had a small face. My dad had cosmetic jaw surgery for a severe overbite and my brother has a severe overbite. Jaw surgery would probably be life-changing for him.

Until getting braces I have never considered jaw surgery but it feels like it's slowly become such a big goal for me. I sometimes obsess over my flaws though... I feel like from the front, my mouth is ill-formed and my face needs to be "pushed out."

I'm just looking for some opinions on whether you think I could benefit from this? My concern started as cosmetic but now I'm thinking many of my sleep and TMJ issues could be addressed as well.

Edit:* also of note, I had a septoplasty covered thru the NHS as a teenager and unfortunately it did not address my 90% deviated septum although did shave a bump down.
