How bad is the WLW dating scene in NYC really?
For the lesbians/WLW in NYC… how are the dating apps actually? I’ll probably be moving to the city for grad school, and I swear every opinion I hear about dating there is completely different. Some people make it sound amazing and say there’s so many queer women that it’s easy to meet people, and other people make it sound like everyone is in a situationship fighting for their life on Tinder.
So I need honest answers from people that actually live there lol. What are the apps like rn? Is Hinge better than Tinder for WLW there? Do people mostly meet through friends/events instead? Is it easier because there’s a bigger queer community, or does having too many options make dating worse? Is the pool smaller than you think and you bump into the same people?
And be honest… does everyone eventually know each other because I feel like that happens in every lesbian city somehow I’m genuinely excited to move, I’m just curious what the reality of the dating scene is before I get there lol
