Advice for uni dilemma

Hi,
I’ve currently finished my A levels and got an unconditional offer from the university of my first choice. However, I am thinking of taking a gap year in order to wait and get my Indefinite Leave to Remain sorted out. One thing that worries me is that if I state that as a reason for my gap year, the uni would retract my offer because they consider me an international student and would hate to lose out of the money I could bring (I really can’t.) Am I being too paranoid?

Also I would appreciate a format with which I could request for a gap year properly

Guidance

Hello.
I am on my summer break at the moment and I’ve been really unproductive. I’ve never set foot in a gym ever in my life and I would say I’m a pretty fat individual. See, the thing is, I have prom in a week and I know by all means it isn’t enough time to lose a shit ton of weight and get skinnier in a span of a week. But I do aim to lose a tiny shred of weight and look slimmer compared to what I look like now so I’m planning on going to a gym tomorrow for the first time in my life. Also, I’ve noticed before, when I did little exercises at home I was able to tone my body a tiny bit in a span of 4 or 5 days but I haven’t been consistent enough to stick to a routine.
Mostly, all I’m asking is if there are any exercises that could help me burn off a few calories and slim me down a bit and if there any tips to overcome shyness because as I said I’m a fat individual and I fear people might find me weird if I don’t use certain equipment with proper form.
Thank you
