Taj Mahal sink and countertop water doesn’t fully drain

Has anyone here had a custom Taj Mahal quartzite bathroom sink made where water doesn’t fully drain and pools around the drain area?
We recently installed a real Taj Mahal stone sink, and while it looks beautiful, water consistently stays around the drain instead of fully flowing down. It’s not just droplets — there’s visible pooling/stagnant water.
I’m trying to understand:
Is this normal for custom stone sinks?
Could this be poor fabrication or incorrect slope/pitch?
Can this lead to staining, mineral buildup, or long-term damage?
Is re-polishing or reworking the basin usually possible?

For such an expensive custom sink, I expected proper drainage, so I’m wondering if this is considered acceptable workmanship or something we should push back on.
Would really appreciate insight from stone fabricators, designers, or homeowners with similar experience.
