Ring on counter, how to fix

Ring on counter, how to fix

Hot bowl on the countertop of our bathroom seemed to have left behind a bowl mark. I’m not sure what the material is, maybe quartz. Any way to get the ring to go away?

Looking for a countertop

What should I know about this stone?

Originally I was looking for a simple white stone for our counters, but I absolutely fell in love with this stone at the slab yard. Unfortunately the lady who worked there didn't know much. I thought it was quartzite, but my fabricator/ installer says it's marble. What's this category of marble called? I'm having trouble finding it online.

The blue cabinet sample is what we'll be using for the lower cabinets. Upper cabinets will be dove white (cool undertone).

Any insight or tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

Need a very durable kitchen countertop option

I'm finally renovating my kitchen and I'm looking for a highly durable countertop stone. I coom and bake a LOT and I use a ton of spices and oils, cocoa powder, turmeric etc so I need the countertops to be stain resistant, heat resistant and durable. Any recomendations whether I should go for quartzite or porcelain?

I held off on renovating for a long time because my existing kitchen countertop is very durable and has withstood a ton of heavy usage over the years. I'm not sure whether it's granite or marble because it looks like granite but lemon juice leaves a white residue on it. I'm attaching a picture in case someone can identify whether it's a marble because I've gotten very good use out of it and wouldn't mind the same material if I can get a colour upgrade.

Looking for an alternative to stone.

We are building a house, small/modest sized L-shaped kitchen with small island. I HATE granite and stone countertops. I know I'm in the minority here but I just really dislike the look.

I want Richlite, which I've worked with pretty extensively making guitars, and using in the kitchen as cutting boards. I know how it wears, how it cuts and machines: I like the look and the feel. I know it requires maintenance. But we got an estimate of over $14, 000 for a Richlite countertop, which is too much. If we can't find it cheaper, I want an alternative.

I'd like to try some solid material like Corian, which I know is way out of fashion, or maybe a stainless or zinc countertop, but I have no idea how much that would cost and I'm thinking it would be a lot. Wife won't go for butcher block.

I'd welcome any alternatives to stone. We have formica in our Kitchen now, and we actually really like it, except that the edges chip and the engineered wood underlayment tends to swell and deteriorate around water.

Any suggestions welcome, and thank you.

Found a long lost remnant of Volga Blue leftover from a job installed in 2016. Photos (and this video to be honest) don’t do this color justice

What do you think of this stock yard Quartz Taj Light by indo. Grade A. I originally want ivoritaj but this is $2000 less and I don’t have to wait 6 weeks. Last picture shows ivoritaj on left, Solitaj on right, sample in middle. More pics in comments

Cosentino silestone ethereal glow

Hi all. I ordered Cosentino ethereal glow for my kitchen remodel to go with my Kraftsmaid warm white cabinets. I ordered it from Lowe's and I can still get a full refund up until the installation date, which I haven't scheduled yet. I made the order because they were running a 35 + 10 + 5 discount and I can always cancel.

I don't know much about countertops at all and was wondering if they're good?

I can't really find reviews about them except for the 7 on lowes: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Silestone-Ethereal-Glow-Polished-Quartz-White-Kitchen-Countertop-SAMPLE-4-in-x-6-in/5014427769

Also, I'm not married to this style or quartz, and would appreciate advice on if there are better options :)

What could be causing this & how to fix?

We just had these quartz countertops installed 2 weeks ago. We have been very gentle with them and only using soap and water to clean. We had someone come in this week to tile a backsplash and after we noticed these faint marks along with this irregular shape. You only see it when looking at them from the side when the light hits. Suggestions? We are so sad.

Cambria install

Just had this Cambria Montgomery (light blue, white, beige, dark gray, some sparkle) installed in a hall bath. I feel like I need to be talked off a ledge about that huge splotch of tan to the right of the sink. I think it is the way it comes but it looks like an epoxy fill in a very conspicuous spot. Thoughts?

Honed carrara marble cleaning and resealing

Hi all,

I have honed carrara marble countertops that I want to reseal. They have lots of character (etching, courtesy of wine glasses and friends dropping acidic stuff on them) that I don't think I will take care of now because I don't feel qualified... But I want to remove a couple stains and reseal.

The stains are from the rubber feet of my espresso machine (plus maybe flying coffee particles?) before I realized that they were leeching into the countertop. I since put felt on the feet. What would you recommend I use to take the stains out? The stains are old (years). See stain picture below.

Then I would like to reseal the marble. I haven't done that in a long time, and even then I was just using a spray. What is a recommended product to do a job that will last longer than the Amazon sprays?

TIA!

Stain on granite countertop

So I had a tomato sauce on my granite counter that wasn’t cleaned properly.

It’s now left a stain that won’t come off.

I have tried different things but I won’t completely come off the granite.

I had a small appliance on it so I had no idea it was there for a while.

Tried baking soda

Tried stain remover for granite counter top ( let sit 24 hours )

Does anybody have any other advice on how to proceed now?

Thank you

Solid surface color

Customer wants to match what is currently installed and swears this is a Corian color. Corian rep says no and their sample boxes have nothing like this. Any ideas from my fellow fabricators?

Best material to fill the joint between a ceramic countertop and backsplash

Hi. Looking for some advice: what’s the best material to use to fill the joint between a ceramic countertop and backsplash?

The installers used silicone to join the two pieces together, but there’s still a small gap on the outside where the horizontal and vertical panels meet, and it quickly fills up with grease and food crumbs.

Is there a reason seams like this are left unfilled? If not, what’s the best material to use to fill it?

Thanks!
