Help please
My check engine light came on recently. I plugged in scanner and it spit out a P0011 (timing over-advanced or system performance bank 1). I just had a full engine rebuild, the last owner somehow left a rag in the oil pan, so it slowly disintegrated and destroyed the engine. However the oil control valves were not replaced. So just to see, I swapped the ocv’s from bank 1 to bank 2 to see if the code would transfer to the other side. Sure thing, it did. I was now getting a P0021 (timing over-advanced or system performance bank 2). So I knew those were my issue. I bought 4 new ones, compared parts (they look identical) and fit perfect. But now I’m getting two new codes which are P000A(A camshaft position slow response bank 1) and P000C (A camshaft position slow response bank 2). Could my timing actually be messed up? Or maybe it’s my cam phasers??? Am I just stupid/ignorant?
