Do you know about the newly created 530(a) account for children under 18

Who else is super excited about the new 530(a) account for kids under 18? With this account, you can now open an IRA for a child under 18, contribute a max of $5K/yr!! No income required for the kid and no income limit for parents! My kids are 10 and 12, and I'm opening an account for them tomorrow. I hope to fully fund it every year until they're 18. They'll be light years ahead financially.

Name that Ceanothus…

Loooove this Ceanothus that I recently saw at a local park. Any thoughts on the variety? I was thinking it maybe ‘Victoria’?

All Dressed Up rose 💕

Planted this rose, ‘All Dressed Up’ last year and it’s been absolutely beautiful in my garden. Minimal scent, but incredibly disease resistant and drought tolerant in my no spray, no fertilizer and minimal water garden. 10/10 recommend. Zone 8B.

Happy Child rose

Went to a park with the fam and also spotted this beautiful rose— it’s very fragrant, leaves were healthy and the garden says it’s no spray. Zone 8b.

Honey Apricot Roses

Seriously, the most perfect color and rose in my garden right now — Honey Apricot roses! Bought them last year as a tiny plant from High Country Gardens!

Young Lycidas + Honey Apricot roses

Young Lycidas (pink rose) by David Austin doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves. It’s scent and the blooms are top notch. It grows alongside Honey Apricot rose in my garden, and makes quite a lovely color combo. Zone 8b.

Mexican fleabane + Jethro Tull coreopsis

Love the color combo. Both drought tolerant and I love that the Mexican fleabane reseeds, a wonderful filler plant.

Rose Checkermallow

Sidalcea asprella ssp. virgata aka rose checkermallow, native wildflower that I planted last fall is in bloom and I’m soooo in love. It’s a wonderful native substitute for foxgloves and non native hollyhocks. A host plant for the endangered Willamette Valley ‘Fendler’s Blue’ butterfly. Plant purchased from Symbiop garden center in SE Portland.

Other plants nearby, Spanish lavender, Mexican fleabane, Sphaeralcea ‘Newleaze Coral’.

Saw this on a walk today.

Title says it all. I made a fast detour once I saw this beautiful rose from a distance. Don’t know the name, maybe David Austin’s Lady of Shallot? Chime in if you know…..

Mislabeled rose…

This was supposed to be DA’s Poets Wife rose which has rich yellow flowers. Clearly, it’s not what I got. ☹️ Anyone have ideas what this rose is?

Fav PNW plants

My absolute faves, Lupinus Rivularis (Riverbank Lupine) and Erigeron Glaucus, both are drought tolerant. What are some of your fav PNW plants?
