Xray also showed grade 2 antelerothesis with bilateral pars defect, DDD, findings at L4 but I’m not exactly sure what at the moment, and findings in my cervical spine. My spine also has a protruding bump at L5 where the disc is I guess bulging out anteriorly.
I’m in the process of referrals to a DO (osteopath), I have been in PT for over 2 months with pain constantly returning after doing PT so I end up taking days off of the exercises. Because of continuing pain and lack of progress I finally have an MRI scheduled end of the month. The pain subsides to a more tolerable level without the PT. My PT isn’t great with my case he seems used to people being better after 8-12 sessions.
I am 36 female who used to lift heavy regularly, had excellent muscle mass, and mountaineered heavily. I’ve stopped all intense exercise and climbing after having my legs stop working, losing grip function and facial numbness while backpacking about 9 months ago. I have now lost a ton of muscle mass.
I have state Medicaid insurance so I’m constantly battling insurance approvals for all of this. I’m hopeful a DO can help me navigate this better. I know without MRI results it’s hard to give advice. But I’m just hoping someone has a success story that keeps me hopeful that I too can recover and get back to those things. Losing them and the grief of my body overall has had a significant impact on my mental health.
Am I working towards a fusion? Is that even a good idea if I hope to haul a heavy pack up big mountains again? What are the other treatment options for this? I’ve read a bit in this sub but I don’t often see people posting with my grade, slippage mm etc.
Wondering if anyone out there has had similar with a similar lifestyle (mountaineering and heavy lifting) as those are my main physical outlets in life, who’ve had success getting back to those activities?
Thank you for any insight at all, I’m open to it all.
I had a significant amount of loss over a 9 month period end of 2023 into 2024. Loss ranging from the death of my partner to job to family deaths to friend losses. My nervous system is completely shot. I have been rebuilding my life all over again. New career, new friends, etc I keep seeing that things are supposed to get better for Cancers after 7 years of chaos. Is this true for me? Things have gotten mildly better but it feels like no matter what I do I get the short end of the stick in life. I’m trying very hard to work on that mindset and perspective. I’ve never had my chart read and I’m curious if it shows significant loss. I don’t fully understand how it would show that so I am open to explanations but realize people are donating their time. I don’t know what all to ask about my chart but am curious if life is taking a turn and calming the fuck down for a while. Does my chart show a lot of loneliness, like continuously? as I feel that’s a theme in my life. I’m in the beginning stages of pursuing a career in nursing focused in end of life care. My 3rd career and hopefully the last. Anyways, thank you for any insight you have, appreciate your gifts!
