How many times do we have to be subjected to Nicole's incessant whining about how her family keeps secrets from her? Nicole never seems to know what's going on, maybe figure out why your parents would rather confide in your ex than you. Even your younger sister leaves you out of the loop. Maybe your rigid personality makes people reluctant to confide in you.

The only person who wants to confide in Nicole is Vanessa and probably because she realizes that nobody else wants to hear her chirp on about her geriatric gangster boyfriend.

Even when there are interesting moments that occur onscreen, there are equally or more interesting things that we don't get to see. Instead of giving viewers the opportunity to see how the Duprees find out that Hayley was bailed out of jail (and by whom) and what their reactions were, we begin after somehow word has already gotten around and the reactions have been deflated.

Today, Vanessa gets carjacked and we don't see it, we don't even see her walking to her car with a shadow closing in on her. If they had the wherewithal to choreograph a fake helicopter for Victor Newman to disembark, they could have did a scene where we see Vanessa start to get in a car, but see a hand on her shoulder, then see her terrified expression, and the camera could cut away...suddenly, we hear her scream. Andre runs in and announces that Vanessa has been carjacked. Tomorrow, it will be Vanessa telling the story from a safe space, devoid of any drama.

Poor Keith Robinson was trying to say his dialogue and not look at the cleavage but he gave up eventually. It seemed like he just thought "hell, I need to focus on my dialogue...the eyes will just have to wander..."🤣

This is speculation on my part but I am watching the replay (finally, something to grab my attention!) and noticed that while Leslie was hawking the Bellclaire patriarch (whose first name escapes me atm), the writing made sure to tell us that Anastasia is a Bellclaire by marriage only who still uses the last name (presumably for privilege purposes).

This aspect stands out to me because I know many people were saying that Anastasia being a weakly constructed character is the reason why they had ruled out the Belleclaire family as being a second core family. Well, the writing has made it clear that Anastasia is not actually a Belleclaire.

What do you think? Could the show be trying to develop the Belleclaire as that core 2nd family of prominence?

Today, I didn't even need to watch, all I needed to do was listen because almost every scene was chatter and not much else.

We didn't see what happened between Carlton and Heather (not an afterglow scene- nada), we only heard about it in a cringeworthy scene between Ted and Carlton, that papered over the fact that one guy pined for his practice partner's wife for eons.

We hear June discuss her friend's problem. A friend who June cares about, yet the show never bothered to show June interact with her, even once, which makes this friend sound like a mere statistic, rather than a real person.

We hear Tomás gripe (again, man, is this show repetitive!) about his job, after whining to Kat about her need to meet with her Mom, and all I can think about was, can Tomás please have a tall, dark and handsome Afro-Puerto Rican cousin to swoop in and steal Kat away from this expressionless whiner? May as well send the character out with an interesting storyline (as well as introduce some chocolate) because, AA is recurring and may be exiting soon.

Having all these conversations about whether to "reclaim" the nickname "Nikki" in order to sell an accessory isn't the cultural flex these writers think it is. It's quite dumb, tbh.

Unless this show is going to show an actual Sunday dinner at the Hawthorne's, I don't want to hear about it anymore! They've got me tired already!

This entire episode came off as filler, filler and more filler.

Seriously, what number are we on now?

She's ready to risk Eva's life by having her go under the knife so soon after transplant surgery?? Instead of trying to help Eva feel better about herself emotionally, she would rush her to go under a scalpel so she can drag Eva on a ski trip. People die this way. Carlton appears to have sense enough to refuse to operate on someone who is still healing but I suspect both will collide somehow.

...an interesting choice.

This only makes sense dramatically if there is some payoff down the road. Otherwise, why waste precious viewing time? It doesn't make sense to me.

It's been an ongoing mystery of what happened to Tim Sheehan. As a grad student, I had purchased Sophocles and found it to be innovative and user friendly. Regardless of purchase price, I still believe what he did was completely unethical and distasteful.

Yesterday, I decided to open up my mammoth Toshiba Qosmio laptop and take out the 2 hard drives (I'd completely forgotten there were 2) to see what really was stored on them. I saw that I had a 2005 Sophocles software program (locked, danggit) and a 2003 Sophocles software program (corrupted? how??). I also had some old screenplays and television scripts. I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to export or convert them.

This made me irritated all over again. I decided to do a quick search and came across this. I wonder, is this the notorious Tim?

As an ATWT fan, I was saddened to hear of Scott Bryce's passing. He was so talented yet also, personable and had a sense of humor. I also knew that he and Tamara were longtime friends, so she crossed my mind when I heard the news. She speaks about her thoughts and feelings in this reel.

The writers are pouring it on thick with trying to rehab Vanessa and Joey's reps. Joey plotted to get rid of Dr. Doug McBride for the sole purpose of snatching the man's wife.

Vanessa was trickin' with the leatherette donning gambling room guy while her husband was crying for help, while he was down bad.

Now Vanessa is trying to convince (herself?) that she prioritizes her twins when, in a strange incidence of a parallel occurrence, Vanessa is once again on the phone with someone she claims to love, and Joey's voice can be heard in the background.

If Deanna comes to town for the summer, please give her a story separate from her gangster moll mama and the crusty bedmate.

She will probably go for half, but how much do you think she'll get? She can put the knives and the poison away for now though.

Crying on Derek's shoulder about Grayson, bringing out Derek's hero complex, which got him murked after he disrupted the warehouse operation (did anyone consider that Derek showing up at the warehouse might have threw nervous Jacob off focus?) and now she had to tell Derek's dad that Derek died saving lives at the warehouse during the plasma ring crisis? Isn't Jacob's identity kept secret not to blow his cover? How did Derek's dad know about Jacob's involvement, if not for Ashley? Who else would've told him?

Ashley is bad Juju. For Derek and maybe Jacob too.

It might just be pure speculation but I could've sworn I read somewhere that BTG was building a new set for Season Three.

If that's true, what set do you think it would be?

I am hoping there will soon be a Banneker University set. By the fall, there will be three regular cast members at Banneker and if you add Chessie (and they should), that would make at least four. A few of the cotillion kids could be under 5s and extras.

Although, I think it would be great if Naomi had even a small office. And I still think Anita & Vernon should have a proper dining area, even if it's an open floor plan dining table.

What are you thoughts?

Before I begin, let me preface this by stating the obvious: I know that BTG is working within a budget but with the value that food has within African American & global Black culture, I cannot help but notice some very odd oversights in the way food is presented on this show. And wondered if we could talk about it.

Even though I have been noticing these things since Season 1, I thought that, by Season 2, some, if not all of these deficiencies would be worked out.

The fact that we are unlikely to see Rowena or Orphey Gene anytime too soon is something that I have had to table but it still bothers me that they are the unseen hands, the unseen labor that provides literal nourishment for most of the canvas, especially since we had to hear about surrogate father Joey teaching Izaiah how to cook (presumably, Darlene didn't have the capacity to teach her son) mac and cheese so wonderous that it earned critical praise from Leslie, though apparently Joey never taught Izaiah to add some greens and a piece of protein to to the plate to balance things out. I got over the fact that Easter dinner was consumed in the country club dining room and not at the Dupree dining room table but, for those times where food is being showcased like an intimate Birthday dinner (not a bad idea, in itself) can we put some respect on the "hidden figures" behind a lot of the foods showcased on this show?

And the next time Izaiah is serving a side dish, can he please put one or two salmon croquettes on the plate or even a piece of whiting?
