Premium Tint Survey – Which option would you choose? (PH)
Hi everyone, especially fellow AION V owners or those in the PH car scene!
Just got my AION V Premium and I'm deciding on window tinting. The dealer is offering free VKool OEM tint on all sides including windshield + rear windows upon release (big savings around P15k). I’m comparing these 4 options and wanted to get your thoughts.
The Options:
Option A
- Sides + Rear: Free VKool OEM (dark)
- Windshield + Panoramic Sunroof: 3M IR (medium) – paid third party
Option B
- Sides + Rear: Free VKool OEM (dark)
- Windshield + Panoramic Sunroof: 3M CR BLK (medium) – paid third party
Option C
- Everything (sides, rear, windshield, sunroof): Full 3M IR series (dark on sides/rear, medium on roof/windshield) – all paid third party
Option D
- Everything: Full 3M CR BLK series (dark on sides/rear, medium on roof/windshield) – all paid third party
Heat Impact on Cabin (my estimate for PH conditions):
- Windshield: ~42%
- Panoramic Sunroof: ~30%
- Side + Rear windows: ~28%
So Options A and B cover roughly 70-75% of the total heat load with the premium 3M while getting the sides free. Questions for you:
- Which option would you personally choose and why?
- Is VKool OEM good enough on the sides/rear compared to 3M, or is it worth paying extra for full 3M?
- Any real-world experience with VKool vs 3M Crystalline (IR or CR BLK) on EVs or in Philippine heat?
- Rough cost difference you’d expect between the hybrid (A/B) and full 3M (C/D) options?
Appreciate any advice! Want maximum comfort in this heat without overspending. Thanks!
