Real Steel G5 Metamorph MK II - Complete front flipper fail

I'm not somebody that has trouble operating a front flipper, there's different degrees of difficulty, but usually I can do it. My post history will also show I like other models of the brand. I can usually just look at where the pivot is in relation to the flipper tab and work it at the right angle based on that, not here. In fact, I think this is the only time where the grip is so awkward and the scales so slippery, in combination with the detent ball being too deep that it absolutely cannot be done safely, or done at all. You can push on the tab until your finger muscles strain and change colors and 8 out 10 times it will not budge. Oil doesn't seem to help it, most likely it'll need the lock bar bent back or the detent hole ground down a bit. I think part of it is design (sorry Ostap Hel) but good QC could have mitigated this. Real Steel should actually try to fix it but I think they will just try unload the stock and pretend it doesn't exist.

edit: I know many are handy enough to deal with this situation, but our time is valuable and I would want to see it discounted even below the $30. Sorry this is what I expect from a low tier brand like a Sitivien for under $10 from Ali, not Real Steel.

NKD - SRM Palfrey

Got this for $17.50 during a limited time sale/price mistake, (about half of normal price) while practically everyone on the deals sub downvoted probably partly due to a new seller the US LLC could be looked up as a registered business. The SRM serial verification page seems to be down right now (does nothing) but it has an 11 digit number on the blade and I'd be very surprised if it's not genuine.

14c28n framelock, reversible wire clip, both the front and back hidden flippers work great - can't complain at all.

Hightron Sharplyn HK01

Just got the v1.0 for $19, has "Hot Knives" on the G10 which they removed on the 2nd version but otherwise not sure if there's any significant difference. Clip is not reversible, no lanyard hole and it has both thumbstuds and hole. Blade is thin. Axis lock is alright a tad on the loose side. (I can sort of wrist flick with a vertical 'U' motion') Feel good about their heat treatment considering report on the 14C28N on the Pathwright I believe it was being 59 hrc and even their m390 decent according to LTK, so not a bad choice overall I think better than the Valor. I wouldn't pay $50 for it though.

Waltham and 377 battery watches

I have a Waltham watch WTH05 PC32 358 inherited from my father and though it's very basic and budget I'm wondering about two things:

  1. Is it worth replacing the battery just for basic accurate time keeping, and
  2. As I will probably look at getting slightly better used watches on eBay etc. is a cache of this battery size a safe investment as it's common, maybe with a set of tools?

Maybe this is bottom of the barrel, not sure what people consider affordable and worth considering so I'm open to ideas.

Hightron HK01 14C28N G10 axis lock $19

After 50% clip coupon on Amazon. It's not without issues, one review indicated the action had problems and the pivot was not adjustable for them since one side was smooth and not D shaped (there's an Amazon image showing it disassembled) though it's T8, so that might be a deal breaker for some, but thought it may be worth mentioning as a budget option being under $20 for the materials. https://www.amazon.com/HOT-KNIVES-Ultra-Sharp-Axis-lock-Lightweight/dp/B0D8437Z46

Next to the Elementum and Rat II. This big boy cuts through cardboard like nobody's business, came with great factory edge. u/MeetingRecent229 how do you like yours? Probably worth noting no jimping on the spine.

Saw it on White Mountain, and yes it qualifies for the 20% code CLOSE so $24 out the door. Come to find there is no thread dedicated for it yet in the history of this sub? 3.7" slicey 9cr goodness. I didn't want to pay ~$45 so yes literally years of waiting paid off. (although this is the coated blade)

Anyone out there have one already? Seems to get favorable reviews. I'm not going to post on another sub to give dibs to Budgetbladers since they probably have limited stock. NKD to come soon.
