Help! Scammed?

Hello all. I desperately need some opinions as to whether a watch I just “won at auction” is authentic or not. It’s the Bulova Precisionist 96B158. There are red flags such as the tuning fork logo on the dial, the lack of 262 KHz printed on the dial and the model reference number actually printed on the dial. I’ve scoured the internet and the only one I can find that is similar in appearance is in question as well. So, is it a fake or am I worried for nothing? Any thoughts, help, opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you help me find a watch for my fiance and dad for under (total) 500 euros?

Good evening everyone,

I'm getting married in a month. I'd like to surprise both my husband to be and my father, the two most important men in my life. I need your help in finding watches that can suit both gentlemen.

My dad already loves watches, he has a couple. Don't ask me which because I am not a watch person. I think he mentioned Tisoot but that's for sure out of my budget. He is in his 60s, hard core Harley Davidson rider. My dad is a bit of a unique guy, he likes a little funky things. His Harley's covered with Looney Tunes and other cartoon characters.

My husband to be actually has a bunch of smart watches, however he doesn't have any classic watches we can wear on an anniversary dinner or a little fancy date. This will be his first. Figured this is the perfect opportunity to get him something to wear on special days. He had also said once he likes a watch with a colorful bezel like that green or blue ones.

Both of them hate the metal bands, they both have said these pluck their wrist hair :D So I think a solid band is best. (Just no fabric bans like too sporty) Dropping a couple of inspo, open to any suggestions.

As long as for the two watches I can stay under a total of 500 euros, I'd consider that a good find and a great gift. I doesn't have to be the same watch twice, I'd rather get them two different models.

Also based in NL, so if you have any brands from USA not sure if I can find those models easily here. Unless there is great shipping :D

Thank you for all your help!

Timex just went all-in on integrated bracelets.

In the space of just five days, Timex launched three different integrated-bracelet watch lines — the E Line 38mm, Continental Chronograph 36mm, and the new Marbella.

Prices range from $209 to $399.

The interesting part isn't really any individual watch. It looks like Timex is deliberately attacking the affordable end of the segment that the Tissot PRX helped popularize.

The Marbella is especially interesting: 40.5mm, integrated H-link bracelet, blue textured dial, quartz, $219. That's less than half the price of the $450 PRX quartz.

Obviously, Timex cuts corners compared with the PRX, mineral crystal, 50m WR, etc. But at $219, does that actually matter?

I took a closer look at all three releases and what Timex might be trying to do with this strategy:

Would you take the Marbella or E Line over a PRX quartz?

[SOTC] Adding a diver to collection - Black or Navy Vaer?

I am looking to add a diver watch to my collection. I've ordered 2 Vaers: a DS2 Navy and a DS4 Solar Black. Both 42mm

Which one would you keep? I already have a blue/gold Marlin GMT, but blue is also a predominant color in my wardrobe

Let me know what you think!

[Question] first watch recommendation

I have a 7.25-7.5 inch wrist and darker skin. I was currently stuff between the [prx powermatic 80], the [Mido ocean star 39], [Mido ocean star 200c] . Or should I just save up and buy a [Longines hydroconquest 39]
Or any other recommendations under 1200

What's your pick for a pink dial?

I saw a picture of someone's pink dial Tudor chrono the other week and I absolutely love the aesthetic, I've been trying to find something pink and fabulous under £500 ever since. (As under as possible tbh...)

I'm absolutely in love with the Seiko Pink Panther watch and would have snapped it up at retail, but it's way too much for me secomd hand from a scalper.

Henry Archer have some really attractive ones, but they're a little over budget and I know nothing about the brand.

So, Reddit hivemind, what's your pick for a bright candy-pink dial to brighten up my wrist? Ideally:

- A general purpose "GADA" watch, probably a diver

- Automatic

- I prefer a metal bracelet, but would probably switch out to a white or pink silicone for summer vibes and lounging by the pool in Monaco *cough

- Under £500

And not that it matters, a watch is a watch, but I'm a big hairy lump of a male, but with smallish hands. I'm happy with a big old tank of a watch or a nice slender tidy one.

Whaddaya reckon, folks?

No pics.. but new realization

So... the wife and I are celebrating our 11 yr anniversary in Portugal. Arrived in Lisbon today. We spent the day walking around Lisbon. There are SO MANY luxury watch boutiques... Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Vacheron, omega, Tudor and more...

I've never really seen these pieces in person. And they ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!

BUT... in looking at them, seeing the prices. I have a new appreciation for my Seiko, Citizen, Casio and offer affordable brands. Nothing I own is over $700 and after seeing the others in person, I like my collection just as much, if not more, than the Luxury brands.

The one watch that caught my eye the more than any other watch today was an all metal GSHOCK at the Lisbon Airport.

I didn't think that was possible.

Not really sure of the purpose of this post, but I just felt like sharing.

Suggest a watch under 150£

Looking for a watch to gift someone.

Can someone suggest a watch with these requirements please :

Under 150£

Clean dial

Leather strap

Around 36mm to 40mm max

I've had Rotary Heritage field in mind but its too big at 42mm, added a picture for an idea of which style of watches he like.

[Question] I need some strap opinions.

I have this new Baltany S2049 field watch - a "clomage" of a Hamilton Khaki. I picked the blue dial version, which, while it looks sharp, kind of limits my strap choices.

I've been trying these Bisonstrap canvas 2 pc straps for the warm weather, and the blue looks like a good daily wear color, the slate dresses it up a little because it sets off the blue dial, but the tan... meh, I'm not sure about it. The watch looks great on a brown leather strap, but the tan canvas is probably too light.

I'd ask my wife, but she's already got a headache from rolling her eyes at me spending a half hour swapping and comparing colors. ;-)

Seiko SNXS79J1 still a good buy at $210?

I had my heart set on an SRPE51, but that seems like unobtainium these days, and I swear the SNXS79J1 was barely over $100 a few years ago. Is this still a great first nice watch at this price, or have others from other manufacturers supplanted it as the defacto no-brainer if you like that style?

Thanks for the suggestions!
