What is your top end limit of what you consider fits the bill of an affordable watch for this sub? I realize this is subjective for everyone. For me, anything over about CDN $800 would move it out of this category.
EDIT: clarified my currency😉
New arrival, Addiesdive AD2048, 316L steel, Sapphire crystal, Miyota 8215 movement, Hacking, Screw down crown, good lume, 39mm Case, 49mm lug-to-lug, 12mm thickness, 20mm Army green Parachute strap, also my first venture into affordable toolish field territory. 16,5 wrist if anyone is wondering. ✌️😊 Love it! ❤️
Pictures don’t do the dial on this Stretto justice. Great watch for a sunny day.
Absolutely love this watch, I think it's beautiful and unique. I am looking for another watch that I can dress up for work and maybe switch out bands Rd or a few different looks
Any other watches you'd recommend for something like this?
So I bought myself a Seiko Mod Watch. I am really in love and just paid 180€. The quality of the watch is amazing and looks really beautiful.
What is your opinion on Seiko Mod Watches?
I wanna get my first Seiko and I really like this one, what do you guys think about it? And how is it as a day to day watch?
first time here, dusting off my collection. hi!
Got my Casio AQ800E-7A on today. Can’t go wrong with vintage!
I’ve recently started collecting after wanting to ditch the smart watch. I owned several of these pieces during periods of my life that required a dependable time piece. I bought the Citizen Eco Drive after my son was born 21 years ago and it still keeps perfect time. I enlisted and bought the G-Shock GA-110 after basic training and we both survived some close calls. Many years later I wore a Timex Expedition during police academy since smart watches were not allowed.
I realized that I had already been collecting I just hadn’t realized the connection I had with horology. I’ve now started to appreciate the history and craftsmanship that are involved and although I can’t afford a Daytona, a Royal Oak, or a Seamaster, I think affordable watches with value that exceed their price and well made homage pieces are a great way to enjoy this interest.
I will rock an F91-W with as much pride as a Patek Philippe (should I ever own one). Don’t be a watch snob. We all have our own reasons and this thing gives us joy.
TLDR; Don’t be a joy thief. Be excellent to each other.
Hey everyone,
I came across this Ciloa watch and honestly I really like the design, but I know Ciloa often makes watches that are inspired by or copied from other brands/microbrands.
Does anyone know if this model is a homage of a specific watch?
I’m especially curious about the weekday display on the dial — the vertical MON–SUN list with the small dot indicator next to the current day.
Has anyone seen another watch with this same weekday layout, or knows what original design Ciloa might be refering to?
My latest purchase and this Timex Midget absolutely impresses me by how different it is from the current Timex watches.
I’ve been wearing this watch for 15 years — and it still works perfectly… I probably need to replace the strap at some point, but other than that, there’s absolutely nothing to complain about.
I bought my husband the men’s equivalent, and after 8 years there still haven’t been any issues.
Best purchase ever !!!
Just looking for some advice -
I intend on building the following collection and do not want to exceed 12 watches.
I already have some of the watches shown including the Breitling which I will not part with. All other watches come in around £150 to £800 each.
I am looking for advice on what to swap out. I do enjoy having quite a spread of watch manufacturers in my line up.
Welcome to any advice and I’m sorry for the AI photo quality, it’s the best I’m capable of creating!
This- will always be better than a Pop watch…. Let’s see those wrists!
