Looking for an alternative to a Seiko SRPD

I've been wanting a mechanical diver-style watch and I love how this Seiko looks, but I've realized that seeing as I'm new to watches, there are probably tons of quality alternatives for around the same price range (or lower) that I don't know about. Any recommendations?

Beginning to feel uncomfortable with my affordable watch

I purchased a Tissot Chemin des Tourelles automatic, but I'm now feeling uncomfortable about its legitimacy. The serial number engraved on the case is missing the 'WS' I can see on all the images I can find. Apparently I should see 'Si' somewhere near the balance wheel, I don't see one, likewise no indication of the number of jewels which I've seen on most images and it is very tight to wind with the crown. The dial and general finish looks pretty good. Any thoughts on the legitimacy of this one? I've got a few days left on a 30 day return guarantee, and can't decide whether to trigger it or not.

Buying my first diver. Which one would you pick, Blue/White or All Green?

I'm buying my first diver and can't decide which color to go with.

For the price looks like the Seiko GMT is the best choice, even though these models are on the "high end" for Seiko.

If I could I would buy both lol.

If you had to pick one for everyday wear, which color would you go with, white dial, blue bezel or the all green model?

Put an alligator strap on my Easy Reader and realized that I created a mega budget Shinola Runwell… ($36 all-in)

But Shinola doesn’t have Indiglo, baby

Thoughts on my new find ?

Hello guys, I just got in to the "serious" watch scene. I was at my local winners and just found this new Citizen moonphase calendrier eco drive for 350$ CAD so right around 250$ USD.

The Citizen tag was still on it for 925$ CAD (650 USD). I know they probably dont go around for that much but I was really happy with my cheap find to get a new "nice" watch.

What are your thoughts?

Caravelle Sea Hunter

Hi guys! I just finished sizing the bracelet on my new Caravelle Sea Hunter and thought I’d share some pics and a little info. For reference, my wrist is about 6.25 inches. It’s been hard to find watches I like with the right dimensions for my relatively small wrist. But I really like the look of the Sea Hunter.

Dimensions: 39mm case. 20mm lug width (stock bracelet tapers to 18mm). 45.5mm lug-to-lug. 14.3mm thickness (which is largely due to the domed mineral crystal, it doesn’t feel that thick)

I’m really enjoying this watch. This is my first dive style watch and my first watch on a bracelet. I ordered directly from Bulova and there was an option to have the bracelet sized for free. The sizing options only go down to 6.5 inches, so I chose to have it sized for a 6.5 inch wrist. Interestingly, despite my wrist being 6.25 inches (or slightly under, depending on heat/ swelling), the bracelet was too tight and I had to add a link. I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue, but I would recommend going maybe .75 inches up from your wrist size if you do have a bracelet sized by Bulova. In addition to adding a link to the bracelet that was sized a quarter inch up, I have to wear it on the last micro adjust hole (i.e. I almost had to add 2 links). The bracelet feels like good quality though (and fits me perfectly now). I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it contours perfectly to my wrist and feels solidly constructed. It has female end links. There are 3 micro adjust holes. It also has a quick release, which I didn’t find particularly quick to release lol, but it’s fine.

Let me know if you guys have any questions about this watch!

Vintage Hand Wind Playable Roulette Watch - Strap ideas?

really struggling to find a good fit for these. I was randomly at a flea market and someone had a bunch of these in a bag with no strap. You can shake the watch and the ball lands on a number. It is hand wind but not automatic.

Here is the weird thing - the right strap will need to be 17mm, and a few brands I checked go from 16 to 18

Great tank style watches

Two of the best Cartier tank alternatives I found after a long time looking. Simplistic and elegant. What’s your guys thoughts?

Has the Berny Railroad been discontinued?

Has Berny discontinued the Railroad watch? I was hoping they would bring out a none lume v4 with applied indices, but it looks like they have been removed from the website.

Super Weekend Holiday Haul

I stumbled upon a little gold mine at Walmart this weekend. Nine Timex watches and two others for a total of $215. The three Timexes on the left are very easy to read with my old eyes so they'll stay in my collection along with one of the others. The rest are heading to Flip City.

Traska alternatives for $1,000 or less?

I would really like to get a Traska Venturer when they finally release their next version of the Venturer in mid-July, but with how limited and infrequent their releases have been, I'm not confident that I'll be able to actually purchase one when they're released. What alternatives for $1,000 or less would you suggest if I could not get the Traska?

Things I love about the Traska: boxed/domed sapphire crystal, hardened steel, the GADA-ness of the watch while also not too boring, and a good 38mm case size.

I guess what I'm looking for is a non-diver everyday wear that leans dressy. Open to major or micro brands.
