Today, my beloved Zelos gets to go on my arm again.
And with the white FKM from the fast Ali in China, it looks particularly appetising.

For me, the Heimdallr SKX (V2) ranks alongside the Islander as one of the best SKX homage watches you can get for a reasonable price ((and after wearing the Titanium Fujitsubo for two weeks, it’s a real heavy beast), and I’m always happy to reach for it. Every aspect of this watch far surpasses the original in terms of build quality: applied hour markers instead of printed ones, sapphire crystal instead of Hardlex, a ceramic bezel insert, a solid bracelet, and an NH35 movement. Only the clasp could be better.
That’s just my view; others (and Seiko fans) may see it differently. And that’s fine.
However, I think that with all its homage watches, Heimdallr can certainly hold its own against the big Chinese players in terms of build quality, and I wish they would produce their own designs as well.
In a moment of madness, I bought the Berny in an Aliexpress sale two years ago. I looked at it, wore it, took it apart, tried out new hands with better lume, and before I knew it, I’d lost interest in it. I stripped the bracelet for the clasp and forgot all about the watch.
It just fell into my hands again, I fitted a leather strap and… I don’t think it’s that ugly anymore. It’s got a certain something (and as a spare, in case I need an NH35 movement for another watch, it’s still good). I just need to get rid of that stupid name.
The son comes to visit on this holiday (in Germany) and i cook greek inspired food. Of course with one of my favorite watches.
Just for fun, I bought some FKM straps (blue and white) for my Oceanus T200 on AliExpress, even though they’re actually meant for the Moon Swatch. They fit the Oceanus like a glove (or like butt on bucket, as the german say is in my region), though you do need to use slightly curved spring bars.
Eleven years ago, my wife gave me this Citizen as a birthday present because I really liked it (in the first picture it’s brand new). Up until then, I’d been wearing small Seiko 5 watches and some awful Vostoks. I can’t remember the reference number; it was only available for a short while and was discontinued quite quickly. It was also my first solar-powered watch. It’s been through a lot over the years and still runs perfectly; only the crystal had to be replaced after eight years, and when I bought a Seiko Glossy SNZH53K1 as a temporary replacement, that’s when my passion for collecting really took off.
I hardly wear it anymore, but it’s a watch close to my heart, and the Citizen section of my collection has now grown to eight pieces.
The watch is a strap monster. I like the bracelet, but i hate the ridiculous proprietary cheap clasp, but fortunately there are other options …
Every time i change the strap, it’s like a new watch. :-)
I don’t wear this little gem nearly often enough. It’s a Casio A1000MA-7EF, with a stainless steel case and mineral glass, which I bought quite a while ago for around 80 euros. Incidentally, Zohran Mamdani, the mayor of New York, wears one too. :-)
Als ich in die Tiefgarage fuhr, wurde ich fast von meiner eigenen Uhr geblendet.
