Since the start of Rivals, a majority of the non-autoshoot playerbase has hated on snipers. But I think crossbow does not get enough hate, and there is one reason.

Scoping in is not mandatory: At least with snipers, there is still a ~0.5 second window until the opponent is ready to shoot. However, crossbows do not have spread regardless of whether the player chooses to scope in. Paired with the crossbow's high mobility, it becomes much more difficult to outpeek or close distance.
