Should I wait next year or take the chance this year
I took 3 law entrance tests this year. UP, Ateneo, and San Beda. Di ako nagulat that I didn't pass the first two since 2 weeks lang aral ko for both since mas naka focus oras ko for the CPALE.
However, I did pass SBU and plan on applying to UST after my board exam.
My brother says I should try again next year since marami naman daw siya classmates na twice nagtake ng UPLAE. My father says I should just go for UST now since mataas naman passing rate nila. There's still a weight of doubt since both are from UP, but have contradicting opinions. Personally, assuming I pass the CPALE, I was thinking of working for a year muna to gather experience for my resumé as a contingency in case I fall off from lawschool.
I'm also aware that if nasa top 20 ka sa UP/ALS, hahabulin ka raw ng mga top firms like Sycip, QT, ACCRA, CMT, etc., and that access to said firms provide major initial financial incentives for a new grad, unequivocal experience, and are heavy hitters on your resumé once you've accumulated the experience to leap. From a more grounded perspective, assuming di naman tayo naghahabol ng top 20, are the opportunities of an average UST/SBU student the same as that of an average ALS/UP student? My main consideration to not proceed forthwith are the high attrition rates of the former, and that if bumagsak ka raw, di na pwede mag apply sa latter.
Do you guys think I should I take the chance with SBU/UST or should I just work first and then try again for UP and Ateneo next year? And what other factors or nuances do you guys think as students/alumni of the said schools or may legitimate second-hand information about the said schools should I take into consideration for this decision? Thank you!
