35' Boardwalk strategies

35' Boardwalk strategies

I'm bowling in a sport shot league on Wednesday and the shot is going to be Boardwalk v2 (35'). I've been reading up on it and a lot of people say that urethane is the way to go on this shot.

I have an old urethane (Storm Natural) that I rarely use...pretty much my "break glass in case of emergency" ball. It looks like it's time to bust that one out. I'm not a big rev guy though.

Any advice on how to attack this? Also, should I put some surface on this ball?

Roast my delivery

I've been working on a number of things. One big problem I've been having is lunging too far forward, especially at the foul line, which has been stopping me from getting under/behind the ball. I've been consciously keeping my weight back in my delivery, but now I notice I've been falling off to the right a lot more. What can I do to straighten this out?

For the first time in over 50 years of bowling, I made a 7-9 split today...

...and didn't see it. I threw it at the 7, saw it was on line, and walked away, and then everybody on my pair started freaking. I bounced it out of the pit (which rarely happens for me).
