Gastric Bypass

Hi everyone! I just got my diagnosis, and looking for some sort of support or camaraderie.

I (29f) have been violently ill basically my whole life. It would come and go at first, but the last two months, I haven’t been able to eat or drink without getting “the burps “ or vomiting.

My doctor mentioned that he thought I’d be an ideal candidate for gastric bypass (Roux en Y) after I heal from my bile duct surgery today.

Has anyone had experience with this? Did it help?

ROUX-EN-Y HEPATICOJEJUNOSTOMY TOMORROW

Tomorrow is the day. I’ve been waiting a month for this surgery due to a significant cyst in my bile duct. Along the way I’ve also picked up a gastroparesis diagnosis, as it was/is the core source of the problem in my tummy.

I’m having the surgery done robotically. That’s a plus.

What tips do you have for me for recovery? I’m no stranger to abdominal surgery. I’ve had 4.
