Cat poops if I don’t play with her

I’ve already taken my cat to the vet and nothing is physically wrong.

My cat is an absolute sweetie pie but has started to do this new thing where she RETALIATION poops.

Specifically, when I won’t play with her.

Typical training would be to play with her more frequently throughout the day to prevent this, but that’s the thing, I do.

I play with my cat often! She is just very high energy (despite being 8 years old) and will want to play at times when I truly cannot (something on the stove, on a work call, etc.). This is more likely to happen during the evening, though.

She is very vocal and will come meow when she wants to play. I’ll throw a ball or two but that’s not enough for her. If I continue to ignore her meows then she will poop immediately outside of her litter box.

Any tips? I’d also love some toys that could keep her busy when I can’t. She really loves balls, her wand, and her ball tower but won’t really play on her own. I bought one of those birds that hang from a doorway and bounce up and down but she’s not interested. She knows it’s a robot and not her mom.
