Tactical w/ Power Sword
Alright, I think it’s about time Saber gave Tac the Power Sword now that they want to rework him and add more melee combat options to his kit.
I’ve seen many people say this takes away from Vanguard and Bulwark, saying things like “who would want to play Bulwark?” or “how can you give Tact the Power Sword and have him with the same amount of melee options as Vanguard?” (Kind of a solid argument if they didn’t plan on updating VG)
Bulwark is the tanky/melee dps knight everyone loves and serves as a pseudo apothecary. Bulwark is not going to lose love if Tact gets a sword.
Vanguard, our lightweight Spiderman melee dps support, is put in a strange spot with giving Tact another melee option. Not nearly as terrible as giving Sniper a chainsword but it does take away from Vanguards identity as a melee focused character a little bit. I’ll admit to that.
Still, I want Tact to have a power sword because I think it’s NOT OP. I don’t think any version of the power sword is better than the Heroic Combat Knives OR most of the chainswords. But the highlight one in particular, Power Gladius literally nukes Terminus enemies. Tact has it. Vanguard has it. And so does Sniper. Giving the power sword to Tact would be for fun and diversity the melee option we’ve been stuck with since launch.
