For those of you who may not know, Jose Alvarado is a Williamsburg native. He grew up & played in Bedford park, right here between South 9th & South 10th on Bedford Avenue. I’d watch him play basketball on those same courts as I played handball.

Watching him grow up, make it to the NBA, & then get traded to the Knicks has been an incredible experience & honestly no one deserves more than he does. He’s always played hard, worked hard.

Me & a friend are working on getting a petition started to rename the park after him. If you’d be down to support the cause, let me know !
