This playful 1½-year-old is currently struggling at the shelter.

Jasper was found on the streets of Williamsburg where he didn’t belong & was almost hit by a car. He’s super healthy, not microchipped, and an owner wasn’t located.

I was able to get him in my home where I observed him; he immediately made biscuits, claimed ALL the toys, baskets and beds, climbed the kitty furniture and acted like he always owned my home. He’s a chatty curious guy! I have cats of my own and sadly, I can’t keep or foster him. A bathroom hold won’t do for this cat; he needs a home to play in.

Now he’s in a shelter cage, and he’s really sad. He is far too active to be cooped up. North Brooklyn cat rescue Whiskers-a-GoGo graciously offered to pull him after his neuter, but he urgently needs a foster home to go to. NYC cat rescues are overwhelmed right now & Jasper needs OUT.

Despite his size, he is still a young baby with kitten energy. He’s smart, affectionate, treat motivated, incredibly busy, and LOVES to play. He’s also a polydactyl! This is a cat who wants someone to get out the wand toy and spend time with him. He also likes to bunny kick his toys. He has so much energy and personality, but he needs somewhere he can actually get to be himself. If you’ve ever wanted a Bengal/Toyger type breed as a rescue, this is your guy!

Jasper could be a wonderful match for anyone who wants an active little companion and has time to keep him engaged. He’d also be great for a family with kids who understand how to play gently and respectfully with a cat.

I got to see Jasper comfortable in a home and seeing him so sad now is heartbreaking. He needs out of the shelter cage and into a home where he can play, settle in, and feel safe.

Park Slope is the one neighborhood where a lot of people do their real shopping at the Food Coop, so a circular roundup feels a little beside the point. Hi everyone, last post I promise.

The bar owner reached out to me and we spoke over the phone for about an hour, he conveyed how sorry he was this happened and how him nor the bands had nothing to do with it.

I was also made aware that they’ve been receiving death threats and threats of violence against the bar and the band. People were contacting them intent on mobbing the place.

This is not ok, that was never the point of these posts. Everyone needs to calm down and chill, absolutely no need for this behavior. Neither the bands nor the venue had anything to do with this.

Please leave them out of this and show them support.

The owner has graciously offered me the gate receipts from their event tonight to pay for the damage so if anything and if you want to do something positive go support the bar and enjoy the show.

I’ve also made contact with Danny, and he expressed remorse for his actions and promised to make it right.

Let’s use this as a teachable moment to be kind and gracious to our neighbors.

Spread love not hate, show up to support the bar and the bands and have a lovely weekend!

I want to clarify that before going public with any of this I had reached out to all parties privately, I only heard back from one of the bands, I would’ve liked to have this matter private but if I didn’t post online it wouldn’t have gotten any traction so for those people who are blaming me for going online with this stuff it.

Also the promoter was kicked off the event and no long has any affiliation with the venue the bands of this event.

Hi everyone! I’ve spent a lot of time debating if I should post this and finally figured why not. After struggling in this job market for the past two years, I started baking and leaning into something I love doing. 

After enough encouragement from my wonderful friends, I started my own little cookie company focusing on made-to-order, small batch brown butter cookies and treats! Perfect for gatherings, housewarmings, cookie exchanges, or just to snack on! I've been eating these cookies for 2 months straight and still not tired for them for what it's worth! It’s honestly been a lot of fun learning how to run a business, marketing, experimenting, and I’m grateful for this experience. I’m hoping to pop into farmers markets/street marks/cafe pop-ups one day! If anyone in the community is interested and would like to try, I’m currently baking:

they just launched their website and it’s riddled with AI content. Looking back to their IG posts I’m realizing there’s AI use there too. Call me lame but pushing on authenticity, community and fine details is a contradiction when you consistently use AI content instead of hiring real people to photograph, design your new business.

it’s also being advertised as a 24 hr diner yet the website is offering full and partial buy outs whenever you want for whatever needs you may want. A diner is supposed to be consistent and reliable and this seems directly opposite to that.
