AIO My new SIL borrowed my wedding decor for a party and is using them as home decor
I just got married on 5/17 (YAY!) and bought these stunning paper flower structures for the wedding. we got loads of compliments on them, people wanting to buy them, etc.. my plan after the wedding was to use them in our apartment and enjoy them! I barely got to enjoy them at the wedding due to being so busy. They cost around 400-500$.
The morning after the wedding, I was obviously exhausted and my husbands SIL mentioned how much she loved them and asked if she could buy them from me that day. I told her no, but they’re welcome to borrow sometime. Then she said she wanted them for her daughter’s upcoming party, and I offered her to borrow them, and they took them that day. They live about 3 hours from me. I feel like that was on me for giving them to her, and should have just sent her the link to buy them but I was also not able to think clearly (morning after wedding!!) and poof they were gone.
I get a text from my MIL with a picture of the flowers in the SILs house, and I said “nice! When is the party?” Assuming they were set up for that. And my MIL said she didn’t know when the party was.
And then I got angry!!! Like you’re just decorating your home with them?? I feel ridiculous, I’m PMSing, but I really want my flowers back and feel like they just became theirs and I really didn’t get the chance to enjoy them :(
