Hi there! My husband is interviewing for a job in Dubai, and would love to know more about living there as I’ve heard very mixed things.

We’re from the Uk, with a 5 year old. The job will pay AED 470k annually. With housing allowance for the first few months only. Im not sure if I will be able to find a job there, ideally yes but if so not sure if I’ll be able to manage school holidays while working.

I was just wondering,

1. is this a decent salary for a family of 3 + international school for my daughter
2. are the summer’s unbearable? What do people tend to do?
3. any advice on good schools? I’ve seen good reviews on Nord Anglia. My daughter is currently in a girls school, she’s very shy and worried about school culture etc.
4. is it hard to make friends, I’m thinking there’s a strong expat community?
5. any insights on impact of Iran war ?
