And I finally found where it was mentioned so screw you anyone who said otherwise

This is right after she experienced the Refinement path dream and where she mentioned having no interest in refinement path. And where She Said her main path was metal so screw you anyone who thinks otherwise

And before you argue, I’m reading the original Chinese text. I have never and never will read any translation of RI

You might think otherwise and that’s fine but I believe I have found the one quality that makes Fang Yuan superior to all his rivals be they mortal, immortal, or venerable.

His “oh no, anyways” attitude towards anything that happens to him

Think about it, it’s the one quality that none of the others have. All of them even in the present day all seem to have this “woe is me” mentality whenever they think about themselves

Like oh no I never got to have kids with the woman I love, or I can’t be with the one I love most, or I sacrificed so much

Like duh, 🙄 your backstory is sad as is almost everyone else’s. Since as mentioned by Fang Yuan, no buddy is an eternal side character or always the main character.

Anyway just here to share my thoughts on what makes Fang Yuan superior. What about you, what qualities do you think is what makes Fang Yuan superior to his rivals

It took a while for me to notice but after rewatching some classic Disney movies. Princess movies to be exact. I started remembering younger me reading or rather my parents reading to me those same classics

So I looked back to my earliest memories I can recall about what I knew of each fairy tale, and well I realized that the version I had experienced first were closer to the supposed original story than the Disney classic versions.

Example, red riding hood, I distinctly remember reading about both her and her grandmother being eaten by the wolf before a hunter came upon the sleeping wolf and then gutted the wolf open to put out red riding hood and her grandma

Another little mermaid I don’t recall the ending but do remember that Ariel was being forced to murder her prince by the sea witch

The more I think back the more I recall of there being gutting, torture, and death being a regular occurrence, like I recall the version where Cinderella’s sisters’ eyes were pecked out by doves in a picture book after they cut up their feet to fit the slipper.

Anyway has anyone else experienced a more disturbing version of the classic fairy tales first or was it just me?

Look I know it might sound like I’m on something but hear me out.

Paradise Earth planned his death at the hands of Fang Yuan.
I seriously doubt he never saw that coming. I mean to have a plan to convert FY to be a saint sounds absolutely absurd to any normal person but this is a venerable we are talking about.

They’re smart enough to use their paths to mimic the effects of other paths so they can easily predict the future or guesstimate possible outcomes.

I believe that Paradise Earth’s plan to convert FY is still in effect even if he’s not around. Everything he did or had his people do made no sense to anyone in or out of the Gu world so there must be something we’re all not seeing.

So I bring forth exhibit A: Paradise Earth’s stated plan known for a fact and is an explicit goal of his is to aid Fang Yuan in becoming a venerable.

To this end he told Fang Tuan how it works and to do it and so on. FY being a venerable makes him an equal to PE so he has no reason to do good for the sake of it. So my question is how was he gonna motivate FY to change?

Exhibit B: no venerable wants there to be more venerables around. At least not when being on the same side is questionable. And FY is the most questionable venerable choice there is.

So no guarantee of partnership, no guarantee of loyalty, and no guarantee of chance of change. This sounds like a daydream to anyone with a brain.

So there’s no way all of PE’s efforts to convert FY into the greatest savior/saint of all time ends with his demise in a damp cave.

Exhibit C: PE has the most Heaven path cultivation of any venerable we know of so far, with it implied that he could have made it to rank 9 which means he has as much knowledge of Heaven path as Heaven’s Will.

Heaven path is basically the source code of the Gu world. Which makes PE the software engineer. Although, we don’t know how long he has it or how proficient he is at using Heaven path. But I refuse to believe the idea of Fang Yuan betraying PE never came across his mind, like it was more beneficial to have an extra friendly venerable around.

Yeah no, why would Fang Yuan ever put this much faith and trust in you a near complete stranger. That just doesn’t sound like FY no matter how beneficial the relationship could be.

So in conclusion I believe PE has a second resurrection method ready and did let anyone know of it just in case. And he will try to influence FY into doing good over time.

In celebration of the author recovering his rights to RI. I would like to look back on my journey with The Master of Gu.

The year 2020-2022. I came across a short manhua called 蛊真人 on a manhua site I use to frequent. I read it in full. And I liked it, it was nice.

My curiosity was peaked, I would return every now and then to check for updates on various manhua I was reading at the time but something kept drawing me to Reverend Insanity

Eventually I decided to look into the source material seeing that the manhua hadn’t been updated for a while.

And from there I fell into the greatest rabbit hole of all time.

I found the Webnovel. I am bilingual so I read the original version in full over the course of 2023-2024. I listened to audiobooks on bilibili.

I was hooked, I was obsessed. I was in love.

I had never had or since read anything comparable to the quality of 蛊真人. It had ledges my standards for protagonists and antagonists. Every character in everything else just seem so petty and immature in comparison.

Reverend Insanity changed me but at the same time, didn’t change me. I’m still me, always have been. Always will be.

I can just see it more clearly now.

Fang Yuan is probably the only fictional character I can think of who truly never looks back
