The change in the stance on social media will fail. But not in the way you may expect.
Okay given the new stance on social media by the JW org there have been numerous posts about why it will fail. Many of these theories have a lot of merit but I think what will ultimately bring them down is not in the way you may think.
You see, this is an advertising ploy. I am sure the WatchTower org will start to pay for ads on these networks. The more money a company or non-profit spends gives them clout on those platforms and potentially could give them account managers on those platforms that they can interact with on a one to one basis.
Given the amount of money they could potentially spend or will have spent when the org finally goes after their detractors, meaning the exjw community there, the org will ask for posts to be taken down or even accounts removed.
Of course, this will cause lawsuits as obviously people will try and fight this. What is this called? The Streisand Effect. So, the very platforms that the JWs will try and use to give them positive news in the world will end up causing far more damage in the future.
This whole social media strategy will fail because of how the JWs have acted in the past. How do I know this will happen? Because they have demonstrated this type of behavior in the past.
