Had Tier 2 USCIS call for H4 EAD expedite — what happens next? Anyone have experience?

Hey everyone,

I just got off a Tier 2 call with USCIS today regarding an expedite request for my pending H4 EAD (I-765) and H4 COS (I-539).

Quick background:

•	F1 STEM OPT EAD expiring July 9, 2026
•	H4 + H4 EAD filed April 29, 2026 concurrently with wife’s H1B (premium processing) at Texas Service Center
•	Wife’s H1B already approved ✅
•	Biometrics completed and confirmed ✅
•	Both cases still showing “Case Received”

What happened on the call:

•	Tier 2 officer reviewed my case
•	Accepted my expedite request on two grounds — severe financial hardship and humanitarian circumstances
•	Expedite formally forwarded to the Texas Service Center
•	Received a referral ID for the inquiry
•	Officer said TSC will contact me within 30 days

My questions:

1.	Has anyone had their expedite forwarded to TSC after a Tier 2 call — what happened next?
2.	How long did it take for TSC to actually act after the referral?
3.	Did you receive an email, a status update, or a direct approval?
4.	Did TSC ask for additional documents or approve directly?
5.	Any tips on what to do while waiting?

The 30 day window takes me past my July 9 expiry date so I’m trying to understand what realistically happens in this situation.

Any experience or data points appreciated 🙏

Looking for recent H-4 / H-4 EAD timeline experiences.

Looking for recent H-4 / H-4 EAD timeline experiences.

My case details:

• H-4 receipt date: 04/29/2026
• H-4 EAD filed concurrently
• Biometrics completed on 06/1/2026
• USCIS online account still shows "Case Was Received" for both H-4 and H-4 EAD

Background:

My spouse's H-1B extension initially encountered an issue and had to be refiled. The refiled H-1B was received by USCIS on 05/15/2026 and has since been approved.

Given that the H-1B is now approved, I'm wondering whether anyone has recently experienced a delay where the H-4 and H-4 EAD remained at "Case Was Received" even after biometrics were completed.

Questions:

• Did your case status ever update to show biometrics were completed, or did it stay at "Case Was Received" until approval?
• How long after biometrics did you receive H-4 approval?
• How long after H-4 approval did your H-4 EAD get approved?
• Has anyone with a similar timeline recently received approvals?

I'm getting a bit anxious since there has been no status update since the receipt notices, despite completing biometrics nearly two weeks ago.

Any recent timelines or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Applied for H4 along with spouse’s H1B in premium processing.

Timeline so far:

  • H4 receipt date: 04/29/2026
  • Biometrics notice received pretty quickly with biometrics scheduled for 05/21/2026
  • H1B unfortunately got an RFE due to a payment issue and had to be refiled
  • Refiled H1B was received by USCIS on 05/15/2026

Now I’m trying to understand how this affects H4 processing timelines since the original premium processing got interrupted because of the H1B refile.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

  • Did your H4 continue processing normally after biometrics?
  • Did your H4 get paused until the refiled H1B was approved?
  • Anyone recently receive approvals in a similar case?

Would really appreciate hearing recent timelines or experiences. Thanks!
