Thank You to the Officer Who Helped My Family
I moved to the United States with my family a little over five months ago. We’re still adjusting to life here, and honestly, every day feels like a learning experience. Our English isn’t very strong yet, so even simple situations can sometimes feel stressful.
A few days ago, our car suddenly broke down near Hatboro Road and wouldn’t restart. My phone battery was almost dead, and I was struggling to communicate with roadside assistance in English. I was extremely anxious, especially with my children with me.
Then a police officer stopped to check on us.
He stayed calm and patient the entire time. He helped charge my phone, contacted Toyota roadside assistance for me, arranged the tow truck, and when he learned that nobody could come pick us up, he even drove my family home in his patrol car.
I offered to give him a small gift to thank him, but he politely refused.
That moment honestly meant a lot to me. As a new immigrant still trying to adapt to life in America, being helped by a complete stranger during such a stressful moment left a very deep impression on me and my children.
Unfortunately, I was so flustered at the time that I forgot to ask his name or even clearly remember which police department he was from. I only know the general area where it happened.
So I’m posting this here in the hope that maybe someone from that department might see it.
To that officer: thank you. Your kindness, professionalism, and patience made a difficult day much easier for our family.
