Julia Donaldson is the g.o.a.t

(greatest of all time)- hyperbolic but I’m new to the world of children’s book. Never had much contact with children before having my own. And I also wasn’t introduced to the classics in my own childhood.

Decided to introduce as many classics as well as most renown authors to my 2-year old. Most recently have started getting through the Julia Donaldson books available at my local library. We have The Graffalo’s child, Stickman and What the ladybird heard next on repeat. We’ve also read Tiddler and Cave baby. I realise these aren’t her most famous books but even these.. The story lines, the rhyming, how the story comes together and engages us (yes us, because I have as much fun as my toddler reading these). Think we will be having a Julia Donaldson themed year.

Any other similar author recommendations very much welcomed :)
