I Feel Pretty Good About 11th Edition

Sure. It would have been great to hear GW refer to Deathwatch with excitement and say something like, "Our killteam stars in black are getting additional detachments and a new box set". They did not. When answer a question specifically about the state of Deathwatch, they soft stated the answer. That said, as I listened to the full video, there were several things they said that made ne feel pretty good.

When asked specifically if Deathwatch will continue to be an army, they did say some good things. First, they said this was one of the most asked questions confirming that lots of people are interested in Deathwatch. They also said Deathwatch "absolutely continues as an army". They don't get "new" detachments, but nothing they said made me think we would loose the one detachment we currently have.

Speaking of detachments, they mentioned that most faction detachments will be 2pts, and they specifcally mentioned that Deathwatch will be able to choose from all the space marine detachments. This means we can have Blackspear and mix in 1pt Space Marine detachments to make cool combos. Also, they mentioned that Deathwatch can use Imperial Agent detachments.

When asked if models released this year will be playable in 11th, they said "yes". Since they recently released the Deathwatch killteam kit, Deathwatch is in.

They were asked directly, "Are there any amries that are getting squated?" The answer was a direct, "No. No armies are getting squated".

Most data sheets are remaining the same. There are some core rule changes that have some effect on data sheets, but the data sheets are not changing. Our killteam datasheets sound secure.

Finally, they are changing the way aircraft work, and it sounds cool. Air craft will able to start in reserve, show up and make a strafing run of our choice and then leave the battlefield again. The points still matter, but the Blackstar may be worth adding to higher point games.

There were several armies that did not even get mentioned. All in all, I think Deathwatch did pretty well.
