I will be visiting Uji at the end of June and am trying to plan out tea shops to visit and matcha I may want to pick up.

I know Uji matcha is famous for umami flavors, but I’m personally interested in other tasting notes such as fruity, floral, and vegetal.

Attached the image of Hatsumukashi by Kanbayashi Shunsho because I read somewhere that it has blueberry and dark chocolate notes, which sounds amazing, so I’ll definitely try to get that!

I’ve seen some online stores that sell outside of Japan but source from Uji describe teas with tasting notes of melon, snow peas, edamame, lilac, etc. Would be amazing to try some.

Any recommendations for matcha to buy directly in Uji, Kyoto?
