The Apoc Warlock hit registration issue captured.

Mind the fat fingering of bringing up the map and emote wheel, I recorded this for a friend as they wanted to see me doing a pit 120 run with my self found Apoc Warlock.

I got the good Butcher RNG (showed up very early) but then I noticed something on rewatching the footage, over 10 apocalypses fail to hit reg, you can see the third apoc I throw at the Butcher hits cleanly and chunks off nearly 1/3rd of his HP, then the hit reg issues start.

Multiple apocs show a damage number, but do not even budge the Butchers healthbar which is confirmation of hitreg failure. I ended up pulling the Butcher to a pack to try score hitreg off the pack, as soon as the pack is dealt with, the hit regs start failing again.

Ground targeted puddle damage scaling. Why has Blizzard never been able to get this right?

Another day, another post about the obsession with ground puddles since D3 and the fact they are completely out of scaling wack.

So forefront, I'm currently a Paragon 246 Apoc Warlock, pretty well geared, all self found and able to push to 125 pit (looking to push to 130 eventually, but we'll get there) I have pretty much all of Torment XII with the exception of Uber Mephisto on farm.

I can move around, soak and generally take a fair bit of punishment with 3mil Toughness (goes up to 10mil when using Nether step) able to pretty much facetank most of the Lairs including Harbinger of Hatred on T12 and Facetank the majority of T10 Mephisto....yet every damn time, it doesn't matter if I'm in helltides, Infernal hordes, high delve pits....

the ground targeted puddle damage appears to just ignore all that health and toughness and sap my HP like it isn't even there.

So why, in over 16 years has Blizzard not been able to get puddle damage scaling right? Have they set the base tick scaling far too high? Does the calculation break and ignore res/toughness?

It always gets me to raise an eyebrow when I can literally take some of the harder content on offer, but even a fraction of a second stood in a burning puddle, my HP bar just vanishes (currently 118k with full fortify)

If they can't get it right, maybe it's time to just do away with the puddles, I don't mind dying, but it's pretty annoying getting murked by something you often don't see and that often does way more damage than any single other thing in the entire game.

I just don't get why, this has been an issue since D3 Vanilla and rather than fixing it or doing away with it, they just double down and add more of these busted and unfun puddle mechanics.

Edit: to add this is with survivability charms and endurant faith to ensure I'm as survivable as possible, yet the puddles just eat my HP and if I don't notice instantly and potion spam/move I'm dead.

Pit Guardian bug. Anyone else encountered this?

Pushing the Pit earlier since I got my Apoc Warlock to a position where they have T12 on farm mode and can deal with all the Lairs including nemesis encounters (not quite ready to take a crack at T12 Uber Mephisto, but have beaten T10) and I ran into a very interesting bug with one of the Pit Guardians (Pit 115)

They seemed to be insanely tanky with as much health as the bugged butcher, I had to keep wacking away on them for what felt like an eternity, so I started moving them around the map.

On some spots, they'd take the proper amount of damage, others they were just taking hundreds of trillions of damage and their health bar was barely budging.

So PSA: If you run into this situation, try moving the Guardian around a bit, appears there's some strange environment bugs which are giving Guardians insane amounts of health (I checked the affixes and nothing they had would make them more freaking tanky than T12 Harbinger)
