Return Flight Assistance
I’m a father of four currently living and working in Japan. Two of my children live in the US with my ex-wife, and every summer we work together to make sure they can spend time with me and their younger siblings here in Japan. She handles the flights to Japan and I cover the return trip back.
Over the past year, things have become tighter financially after the birth of my youngest son, especially with my wife receiving reduced income during maternity leave. We’ve still managed to stay afloat, and I’ve continued paying extra child support while catching up from the transition to living and working overseas full-time.
Recently, I got hit with several unexpected vehicle expenses on my 2014 Honda (new tires and brake work), which took a major bite out of the funds I had set aside. I’ve already created a strict budget plan to recover from the credit card debt this caused over the next few months, but I made a mistake by waiting too long to purchase my return flight from LAX back to Japan after dropping my older children off.
Right now the cheapest flight I can find is around $533. I’ll be traveling light with only a backpack and returning immediately the following day after arriving in Los Angeles.
I’m not in danger of homelessness or anything severe, and I understand this is a large ask. I’m simply trying to avoid pushing myself further into debt after several large expenses hit close together. Your generosity toward the flight would mean more than I can properly express.
