Anyone else avoids trying new moves at socials because you're worried it will disrupt the connection with your partner?

(especially those kinds of moves that I think are known as 'tricks' like leg lifts, foot slides, sits, leans, etc.)

For some possibly relevant context I usually dance a more closed kizomba+tarraxinha style (with sometimes some tarraxo)

Going to first zouk class soon as advanced bachata sensual and kizomba lead. Looking for tips.

Also anything that I should look out for regarding differences between what I currently dance and how I should dance zouk.

Ways to adapt kizomba/bachata moves for zouk?

(Brazilian zouk)
