My take on the movie - Everyone except Nikki is selfish

I watched the movie for the first time today(I know, pretty late to the party) and I loved it. Scrolling through this subreddit and seeing everyone else’s takes on the movie prompted me to give my own perspective

In my opinion, everyone in the movie, Ian, Sarah, and Bear were all selfish, except Nikki. Bear is obvious from what happens through the course of the entire movie.

Sarah, in the sense that she asks bear to come in the middle of the night and try to use it as a way to confess her love for him and use Ian and Nikki hooking up as another way. Moreover, even if her intent was to tell bear, she could’ve picked a better time unless her intentions were to get with him(again, could be far fetched and Bear does play a part in initiating it so it’s not fully her)

Ian, I think was selfish in the general sense, esp with the billion dollars. But also, he sees that Nikki is acting weird and yeah asks Bear, but doesn’t really figure out what’s wrong with her or asks her after the next day of the wish being done. Again, not too much that I can analyze since I only watched it once.

Nikki, for me is not selfish at all. She just does what she wants to do, and her giving $20 to the homeless guy in the movie can be to make Bear like her more and for the audience too as well but she also talked to him, which again, prolly was just something random, but shows that she didn’t have any ulterior motive.

PS: this is my take and I could be 100% wrong. It’s great movie and I love that there’s so much that anyone can take from it
