Is it a hot take to think that Root A would’ve been loved by fans if it hadn’t replaced a proper adaptation of the manga?
I mean Root A had some unique ideas that weren’t all awful. Not to mention Ishida was involved with its production. If season 2 had been an adaptation of the remaining manga, and at some point Re got its own (FAITHFUL) adaptation. And then Root A was released sometime later as its own thing wouldn’t people love it?
It would kinda end up being like the rebuild movies for Evangelion. Not canon but just new content for fans to enjoy.
What do you think?
