Im looking to travel from a city on the island to a Thompson-Okanagan Valleys city on the coming Friday to spend thanksgiving weekend with my family. Problem is, i work till 5pm and there's no buses after 3.... and a $700, albeit return, flight is hilariously out of my budget. I do have a car, but itll need to be made highway ready and be put on a ferry and back, all of which will end up costing me just as much as the flight...

Im thinking of taking the ferry out to vancouver and then trying my hand at hitchhiking my way to kamloops.. what does everybody think, is it a valid idea?
