Replacing Awful Blinds in Rental
The rental I moved into recently has these really awful blinds on most of the windows. They don't cover the entire windows, some of the individual blinds only rest at random angles, and the plastic bit from which they hang is broken on some of them, meaning they tend to fall off. I would like to replace them with some proper curtains that actually give some privacy.
From what I have found online I need to ask the owner's/REA's permission for this. I would just like to have some advice on how to do this in a way that is most likely not to be ignored.
Should I find examples of the kind of curtains I would like online? Should I offer to buy and install them myself? If so I could use some advice on how to make sure they curtains are compatible with the existing rails - I'm not super familiar with this stuff.
