Honor mode run, just gotta vent losing it at the last moment
I beat the Netherbrain with 3 turns left. Feeling great, let out a sigh of relief. The run was done and I just had to click through some cutscenes and watch my achievement pop up. Unfortunately for me when I had done my only other full playthrough it was before the epilogue party was added. I went around and thought to myself how this was a nice little addition chatting with the others about how their lives were after everything.
But I chose to be a mindflayer, why? Well I hadn't done it on my other run and I thought the mindflayer powers would be fun. Fun...
So yep I lost my CON save twice and my awesome Shadowheart arcane archer obliterated my bard with just every arrow she could conjure. For being so cautious for so long and to have it all end in the epilogue by getting punished for talking to the other characters feels bad. I would've felt so much better had I lost a few minutes before to the Netherbrain. Why put a potential run loss in the epilogue? Just give me a cutscene saying my character lost control and fade to black after talking to withers. And yes I've seen all the comments in other places "Don't do anything for the first time in honor mode" and the like. Which I understand for literally any other part of the game, but this is just such a whimper of a loss to have.
Anyway time to take a break from BG3.
