Guys I found Cyrene IRL 😭

Went to HoYoLAND 2026 and somehow encountered an actual Cyrene cosplayer.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to gather the courage to ask for a photo, but I DID IT LMAO

I literally traveled to Seoul for the Cyrene Edition before and now I’m saving 200+ pulls for E6, so I guess meeting Cyrene IRL was the next logical step in my descent into madness.

Faces covered for privacy, of course.

11/12. I still believe.🌸

(Btw I’m the guy on the right, not the Cyrene cosplayer)

I am officially withdrawing my support for Cyrene.

From this moment onward, I am no longer merely a Cyrene supporter. Cyrene and I are now one and the same. Any attack on Cyrene shall be considered a personal attack against me.

Cyrene, my hero.
Cyrene, my savior.
Cyrene, my love.
Cyrene, my joy.
Cyrene, my sorrow.
Cyrene, my destiny.
Cyrene, my everything.

I love her so much
I just love Cyrene 😭
PLEASE COME BACK

Update: Back from the relic mines — how does my Evernight look now?

A few days ago, I posted my Evernight build here asking what I should improve first. Thanks for all the advice!

I went back to the relic mines and finally switched from a CRIT Rate body to a CRIT DMG body while getting more CRIT Rate from my other pieces.

She now has 54% CRIT Rate before battle, and with her own +35% CR plus Remembrance Trailblazer, she can reach about 99% CR in combat.

Also, I’m specifically building her to use Evernight as the hypercarry/main DPS, rather than Cyrene as the main DPS. So I’d like to optimize the build around that playstyle.

I know there are still some weaker pieces, but I’m pretty happy with the progress so far.

Am I finally allowed to leave the relic mines, or am I going back in? lol

Which part of my Evernight build should I improve first?

I’ve been working on my Evernight build for a while, but I’m not sure which piece I should prioritize replacing next.

Which relic would you guys try to improve first? Any advice on the overall stat distribution would also be appreciated!

[Discussion] My problem with Cyrene isn’t just Summer Robin — her own kit pulls her in two different directions

I made a post before about Summer Robin potentially replacing Cyrene in Castorice/Evernight teams.

After thinking about it more, though, I think I was focusing too much on the result and not enough on the underlying problem.

My issue isn’t simply that a newer support can outperform Cyrene.

It’s that Cyrene’s own kit seems to pull her toward teams where her specialization isn’t uniquely valuable, while some of her strongest character-specific buffs belong to teams that don’t actually work particularly well with Cyrene’s own mechanics.

And for a specialized support, I think that’s a much bigger long-term problem.

Cyrene has two different kinds of specialization

Cyrene isn’t a generic support.

A huge part of her identity is her unique buffs for the Chrysos Heirs. Outside of that roster, a major part of her kit simply isn’t available.

At the same time, Cyrene’s own Ultimate revolves around Recollection generation. Her team composition matters heavily here, and Remembrance characters and memosprites naturally make it much easier for her to reach her first Ultimate and continue cycling it.

So there are basically two directions built into her kit:
1. Play Chrysos Heirs to maximize the value of her unique buffs.
2. Play Remembrance-heavy teams to maximize Cyrene herself.

Ideally, those two directions should converge.
There should be a team where Cyrene’s restrictions, her Recollection mechanics, her exclusive buffs, and the strength of the team itself all come together.

And technically, that team seems obvious.

Castorice / Evernight / Cyrene / Hyacine should be Cyrene’s perfect home

This team checks almost every box.

It is packed with Remembrance characters and memosprites, which is exactly what Cyrene wants for Recollection generation.

Castorice, Evernight and Hyacine are all Chrysos Heirs, so Cyrene gets to use her unique support effects.

The HP-based Remembrance ecosystem naturally links the characters together.

This is the kind of team where Cyrene doesn’t feel like a support you inserted into someone else’s team.

It feels like the team Cyrene was designed to complete.

And historically, it was one of the strongest examples of what Cyrene could do.

That’s why Summer Robin potentially replacing her here bothers me so much.

To be clear, I don’t have a problem with Summer Robin being extremely strong.

I don’t have a problem with a universal support having higher overall account value than Cyrene.

But specialization is supposed to involve a tradeoff.
A universal support gets broader compatibility.
A specialized support gets a narrower range of teams, but should receive something meaningful in exchange for accepting those restrictions.

Summer Robin is much more universal than Cyrene.
Cyrene has Chrysos-Heir-specific effects and her own mechanics strongly encourage particular team structures.

So if the more universal support can also outperform or replace Cyrene inside one of the most natural environments for Cyrene’s own kit, I have to ask:
What exactly did Cyrene get in exchange for being specialized?

“But Cyrene is still BiS for most Chrysos Heirs”

This is true, and I don’t want to pretend otherwise.
Cyrene’s ability to support so many Chrysos Heirs is still a major strength.

But I think this argument sounds stronger on paper than it necessarily is in practice, because being BiS for six different characters doesn’t mean those six partnerships have equal meta value.

The Chrysos Heirs are currently in very different positions.
Aglaea is probably the most extreme example of a former carry falling behind, but she isn’t the only relevant case. Mydei and Anaxa can still be strong and their exact rankings vary significantly between evaluations and content, but they are not consistently the defining top-end carries of the current meta.

Phainon is an important exception. He is still rated extremely highly in multiple current evaluations, sometimes among the best DPS characters available.

But Phainon actually reveals another problem with Cyrene’s design.

Phainon might be the funniest example of Cyrene’s problem

Cyrene’s Phainon buff is ridiculously powerful.

She gives him Coreflame, huge offensive benefits, and most importantly can effectively extend his transformed state indefinitely.

If you only read the buff, Phainon looks like one of the clearest examples of why Cyrene’s Chrysos-Heir specialization is valuable.

But then you look at how their actual kits interact.
And it’s almost backwards.

Phainon’s Transformation removes his teammates from the field.

Cyrene wants her teammates taking actions to generate Recollection.

So when Phainon does the thing Phainon wants to do, he interferes with the thing Cyrene wants the team to do.

If Phainon transforms as soon as possible, Cyrene’s Recollection generation suffers.

If you delay Phainon’s Transformation to wait for Cyrene’s first Ultimate, you’re delaying Phainon’s own game plan in order to accommodate hers.

This isn’t just some tiny theoretical inconvenience, either. Multiple guides have specifically pointed out that Cyrene and Phainon have inherent anti-synergy despite how absurdly strong her exclusive Phainon buff is.

And I think that’s incredibly revealing.

Because now we have two opposite examples.

Castorice / Evernight / Hyacine

This team is excellent at enabling Cyrene’s own mechanics.

Multiple Remembrance characters.
Lots of actions and memosprites.
Fast Recollection generation.
Everything feels structurally correct.

But Cyrene’s exclusive buffs in this core apparently aren’t strong enough to guarantee her slot against a more universal support like Summer Robin.

Phainon

Cyrene’s exclusive buff itself is extremely powerful.
This should be one of the best advertisements for her specialization.

But Phainon’s actual gameplay structure has major anti-synergy with Cyrene’s Recollection mechanics.
So the situation starts looking almost comical.

When Cyrene’s own mechanics fit the team perfectly, her exclusive support advantage may not be strong enough.
When her exclusive support advantage is incredibly strong, her own mechanics may not fit the team properly.

Where is the team where both are true?

That’s my actual problem with Cyrene
I don’t think Cyrene is bad.
I don’t think every Chrysos Heir she supports is bad.
I don’t think Summer Robin needs to be weaker.
And I absolutely don’t think Cyrene should be BiS in every team in the game.

What bothers me is that I struggle to point to a current top-end team and say:
“This is Cyrene’s team. This team maximizes Cyrene’s mechanics, maximizes the value of her specialization, and the strongest version of this team clearly wants Cyrene.”

Those three things should overlap.

Instead, they seem separated.

Want to maximize Recollection generation and Cyrene’s own rotation?
Play a Remembrance-heavy team like Castorice/Evernight/Hyacine.
But then a more universal support can threaten her slot.

Want one of Cyrene’s most absurdly powerful exclusive buffs?
Play Phainon.
But now Phainon’s defining mechanic actively interferes with Cyrene’s Recollection generation.

Want to use her with the rest of the Chrysos Heirs?
Sure. She’s still useful or even BiS for many of them.

But their current meta relevance varies dramatically, and many of those teams don’t maximize Cyrene’s own Remembrance-focused mechanics anyway.

So Cyrene can simultaneously be:
BiS for many characters,
a powerful support,
highly flexible within one specific roster,
and still lack a team that truly demonstrates the maximum value of her overall design.

Those statements aren’t contradictory.

And Cyrene being a support makes this feel even stranger

There’s one more reason the usual “powercreep happens” argument doesn’t completely convince me here.

Cyrene is the newest character in the original Castorice/Evernight/Hyacine/Cyrene core.

And she’s a support.

If Castorice were an old DPS getting replaced by a newer DPS with larger numbers, that would be normal gacha powercreep.

But supports are usually the characters that help archetypes survive DPS powercreep.

Cyrene arrived late in the Amphoreus roster as a specialized support tying together Chrysos Heirs and Remembrance characters.

So watching her potentially lose her place in the very Remembrance-heavy core that best activates her mechanics feels different from watching an old DPS simply age out.

Especially when the character replacing her is more universal than she is.

Again, that doesn’t make Cyrene useless.
It raises a design question:
Why does the more restricted support not have a clearer advantage inside her own ideal environment?

What I want from future Remembrance characters

This is also why I don’t think Cyrene necessarily needs some massive direct buff.
A future character could solve most of this.

Give Cyrene a genuinely top-end Remembrance teammate where:
stacking Remembrance characters is optimal,
Cyrene’s Recollection generation becomes a meaningful advantage,
the character’s unique Cyrene buff is extremely valuable,
and replacing Cyrene with a universal support is a clear downgrade.
Suddenly her entire kit makes sense.
Her restrictions have a payoff.
Her specialization has a home.
Her personal mechanical ceiling and the team’s ceiling finally point in the same direction.

But if future Remembrance teams keep asking:
“Cyrene works here, but what if I just use Summer Robin instead?”
then I think Cyrene has a much bigger long-term problem than ordinary powercreep.

She risks becoming a character who is technically BiS for a long list of older Chrysos Heirs, while no longer being the defining support for the strongest version of the archetype that her own kit encourages.

And that feels backwards for such a specialized support.

So I think my problem with Cyrene can be reduced to two questions:

Why isn’t the team that best enables Cyrene also the team where Cyrene is clearly the best support?

And maybe even more importantly:
Where is the team where Cyrene’s own mechanics and Cyrene’s specialization actually reach their ceiling at the same time?

HOW CAN SOMEONE BE THIS BEAUTIFUL???? 😭💕🌸

Every time Cyrene appears on my screen I forget what I was doing.

LOOK AT HER 😭😭😭

THE PINK HAIR
THE EYES
THE FLOWERS
THAT SMILE
HER VOICE
EVERYTHING 😭💕💕💕

She’s so pretty. She’s so sweet. She’s so precious. I genuinely don’t understand how they made a character this lovable.

I don’t care about meta today.
I don’t care about powercreep.
I don’t care about team calculations.

LOOK. AT. CYRENE.

That’s all.

🌸💕 CYRENE IS LOVE 💕🌸

Should I skip Summeretto and save everything for E6 Cyrene?

I’m having a hard time deciding what to pull next, so I’d like some advice.

My current main team is:
E0S1 Castorice / E0 Evernight / E3S1 Cyrene / E0S1 Hyacine

My long-term plan is to transition from Castorice to an Evernight hypercarry team. I’m planning to give Castorice’s LC to Evernight, so I probably won’t need to pull Evernight’s.
The most important thing for me is E6 Cyrene. She’s currently E3S1, and I absolutely want to get her remaining three Eidolons on her next rerun.
The problem is Summeretto. She looks extremely strong for the team and I definitely want her eventually, possibly with E1/E2 and S1. But right now I have guaranteed pity, 18 pity built, and around 90 pulls saved.

I’m worried that if I use my guarantee on Summeretto now, I might not have enough to comfortably reach E6 Cyrene if she reruns soon. I’d also like to get E2 Evernight eventually, which makes the potential upcoming pull schedule even more expensive.

Would you skip Summeretto for now and save the guarantee + pulls for Cyrene, then get Summeretto on her rerun?
Or is Summeretto valuable enough for an Evernight/Cyrene team that pulling E0 now would be worth the risk?
I’m not in desperate need of immediate account strength, so I’m mostly thinking about the best long-term investment.

[Discussion] Cyrene’s biggest strength might also be her biggest long-term problem: she has too many exceptions

Cyrene is probably one of the most uniquely designed characters in HSR, and ironically, I’m starting to think that might be her biggest long-term problem.

When she released, almost everything about her felt like special treatment.

She has unique buffs for individual Chrysos Heirs. Demiurge doesn’t behave like a conventional memosprite. She has her own Recollection resource and an unusual first Ultimate. Her value changes dramatically depending on which Chrysos Heirs you pair her with, and some of her Odes interact with their kits much more deeply than others.

On paper, this is incredibly cool. It gives her an absurd number of possible interactions and optimizations.

But the longer the game continues, the more I wonder whether all of those exceptions are becoming design debt.

The recent discussion about Demiurge being “out of bounds” is a good example. Being fundamentally different from a normal memosprite sounds like a privilege until the game introduces mechanics that specifically reward having normal memosprites on the field. Suddenly, the thing that made Cyrene special can prevent her from benefiting from systems designed for her own Path.

I think her Odes have a similar problem.

My guess — and this is only speculation — is that their wildly different power levels may have partially reflected the state of the Chrysos Heirs when Cyrene released.

Castorice, Evernight and Hyacine were already extremely strong, so giving them Aglaea/Mydei-level transformative Odes on top of Cyrene’s base kit might have been excessive at the time. Meanwhile, characters who needed more help could safely receive much stronger or more transformative effects.

And in 3.7, that worked.

Cyrene didn’t need an absurd Castorice-specific buff when the entire Castorice/Evernight/Hyacine/Cyrene team was already crushing content. There was some competition from Tribbie, but Cyrene was still very clearly intended to be the natural choice for that team.

The problem is that this effectively freezes a snapshot of 3.7 balance inside Cyrene’s kit.

The game doesn’t stop changing just because her Odes do.

A Chrysos Heir who was extremely strong in 3.7 can receive new generalist supports later. A weaker character can become stronger through new teammates. New mechanics can change the value of old effects. And suddenly an Ode that was intentionally conservative because its recipient was already powerful can become underwhelming compared to what newer generalist supports provide.

This creates a really awkward maintenance problem.

The obvious solution would be to buff Castorice, Evernight and Hyacine’s Odes. I still think they could use improvements.

But if you actually want to fix Cyrene’s design for the long term, can you really stop there?

If those three Odes are updated for the current environment, shouldn’t the other Odes also be reevaluated under the same standard? What about Demiurge’s unusual interactions with memosprite mechanics? What about Cyrene’s general buffs? What happens when more Chrysos Heirs get alternate versions, or when completely new Remembrance mechanics are introduced?

You could keep adding new character-specific interactions forever, but that creates an ever-growing list of exceptions that the developers have to design, balance and test around.

You could stop adding them, but then Cyrene’s specialization slowly becomes a museum of old characters.

You could make her more general, but then you risk erasing the entire identity of a character whose appeal was that she had all of these unique relationships in the first place.

That’s why I don’t think this is simply a “Cyrene needs bigger numbers” problem anymore.

She reminds me a little of Aphelios in League of Legends: a character whose ridiculous number of interactions creates an enormous amount of optimization and a very high ceiling, but also makes seemingly simple balance changes much harder than they would be for a conventional character.

Except HSR has another problem that League doesn’t have to the same extent: vertical powercreep.

A League champion can fall out of the meta and eventually return when items, systems or balance changes favor them again. In a gacha game, the baseline power of new units can simply continue moving forward. And while Novaflare gives HSR a way to update older characters, those updates still have to coexist with the incentive to sell newer ones.

So Cyrene has the complexity and maintenance problems of a character like Aphelios while existing in an environment where the power baseline itself keeps moving.

I don’t think this means Cyrene was badly designed. Honestly, I think the opposite is closer to the truth.

She may have been over-designed for a live-service game.

So many things that looked like incredible special treatment on release are now things the developers may have to actively maintain forever if they want those mechanics to remain meaningful.

And the funniest part is that we’re already having this discussion while most of the characters she was designed around are still relevant.

I always assumed this problem would appear eventually.

I just didn’t expect “eventually” to arrive this quickly.

Hopefully Novaflare is capable of maintaining characters with this kind of design, because otherwise Cyrene’s greatest strength — being one of the most uniquely interconnected characters in the game — may slowly become her greatest weakness.

And, well…

HoYo, you created this problem yourselves.

This really is a story “Because of You.”
