Cyrene and Patriarchy in Amphoreus by Stormer234

TLDR:

While Cyrene Peach is built around the idea of the perfect girl (but unable to do what the perfect woman would do, which means Marry and reproduce), Cyrene Demiurge represents this idea that Peach can't be, while also not fully grasping Love without diving herself into the story, becoming Mem. And Cyrene, who is all of them, redefines the codes she was supposedly built on.

What am I getting myself into lmao

Anyway, I've seen this post a while ago but I didn't bring it here because I wasn't sure how to handle it. But I suppose I'll just say this:

Unlike the solfeggio or the discussion about the prime mover of life that they made, I cannot assure that all of this was intended by the writers. However, nothing prevents us, the Public, to imagine our own interpretation, especially since this does not go against what's established right?

So at worst, consider this as a fun topic to learn things and maybe discover things you didn't know.

So, we first by mentioning Someone else's post that says that Cyrene, in her child form, is the perfect girl.

She's a childhood friend, she's gentle, she's wise, encourages you, she's smart, she's the one that came up with just the plan that saved the WHOLE FREAKING UNIVERSE, she's perfect.

However, Stormer brings up that Smolrene has one flaw that prevents her from being the perfect woman, and it is her flaw: she cannot grow.

In a patriarchal system, a woman is expected to become a housewife, to get married and have kids. But by the fact she physically cannot grow up, she cannot have kids (and get married).

According to the ecofeminism, being fertile means being able to reproduce. And her prophecy says she's fated to die when the flower blooms (Blooming could be related to the fact of a flower becoming fertile).

They say it means she dies before she can reproduce, but the exact term in English is When, so take it as you wish.

Consequently, despite being built (potentially under the watchful eye of a cold genius that moderated the experience) around the idea of being the perfect woman, she cannot fulfill the last step to be one, which is to reproduce.

And it's where we talk about her Demiurge form. Who's literally a version she built about herself if she could grow up.

She is dressed as a bride, with a ring, she's everything that Smolrene cannot be.

They then say that despite this, Demiurge isn't the perfect woman because she is different from Smolrene, and while I am very sensible on this topic (because for me they are all the same person)

Id argue that it's just the story of HSR being a bit chaotic there, and it's just another sort of growth, but from our pov as the player at that moment, it really looks like they are not the same person, but we realize we were wrong at the end of the story.

But then if Smolrene isn't the perfect woman and Demiurge isn't, what does it mean? Well, it's where we bring up Cyrene as a whole. Almost like a dialect.

Smolrene and Demiurge can be both built around the patriarchal norms, but Cyrene ultimately redefines her own norms, by redefining a very important thing in her character: the Ring, generally a symbol of marriage.

It could represent many things, one thing I'll keep from them is her devotion to Amphoreus, but also knowing that Love is related to the path of the Trailblaze, I'd also say this ring represents the Promise of Tomorrow, which is a roundabout way to say her devotion to Amphoreus.

Her backstory explained particularly in 3.7 tends toward Cyrene gaining her own agency. First shown with the Flawless flower allegory, the flower (Cyrene Demiurge) breaking (becoming Cyrene Mem) is a sign of the Flower's desire to defy fate (A sign of Cyrene's agency), but her choice to save Amphoreus is hers and hers alone.

So Cyrene redefines the meaning of the ring, the same way she redefined her version of Perfection (even if I prefer to say that she desires Imperfection more than Perfection) through numbers and such.

And the game seems to really push her different names: Peach, Demiurge, which can confuse people around who she is, even if ultimately they're the same. But maybe it is because of the fact that Peach and Demiurge were created around the norms of the perfect woman, but Cyrene, the Whole, didn't just become what the norm expected her to be, but defined her own rules.

Peach and Demiurge can be seen as objectified things, but Cyrene is a Person.

Cyrene is all of them, but when we only talk about what Demiurge and Peach are and not who they are, we can suppose they are objectified. But Cyrene is a Human, with An Ego.

Amphoreus as a whole (and this time I 100% agree that this is intended) is a critique of the flawless and the divine, often bringing back the idea that Humanity should have their own agency, not letting the Gods enslave them. Everyone has their own idea of perfection by the fact that everyone is imperfect in their own ways, and consequently, everyone has a different Ego.

Coming back to this idea of perfect woman, while Demiurge starts with the idea of a perfect flower who Loves, Peach brings the idea that the flower didn't understand it, as, the same way Demiurge has what Peach is missing, the same goes the other way.

And only by rebelling against fate (gaining her own agency by breaking herself/becoming Mem) can she understand Love. Can be fun with the idea that to Love, she must not follow the idea of the perfect woman.

And on a final note, they bring up the Panantheism, the idea of a God existing inside and outside the world (like how, as the Demiurge and Peach, Cyrene exists both inside and outside of Amphoreus.

Sallie McFague proposes a new idea of the trinity instead of the father the son and the holy spirit, we would have the Mother, the Lover and the Friend.

The Mother would be the Demiurge, as it would represent the Agape (The Love of a God for its creations)

The Lover would represent Mem, because Mem is the personification of the Demiurge's first desire of Agency, her Love to join this story and be part of it (being more like Eros, but not in a sexual way)

And the Friend would obviously be Peach, who can also be Eros (I suppose in this idea of new trinity) but simply also due to her Love as a Friend, as we stated above.

So! This is a huge thing. As I said, most of it, more than other posts, imo, are very subjective, and I don't know if the writers intended it this way. It's likely, especially when we also talk about men in this story:

Mydeimos and Anaxa are both not following the norms of what we expect from them, while Phainon, having a great sword (a very symbolic object in the patriarchy), does everything to fit into the role we expect him to be (which gets him the name Flawless Hero)

But I won't be able to say for sure. Maybe there are even more things to explore, maybe not, but if I at least managed to make you more interested in Storm's threads, Ecofeminism, or even Panantheism, then I'd be happy.

To summarize!

Cyrene as Peach is the perfect girl, but can't access to the act of marrying and having kids, while Demiurge represents this whole idea of marriage due to her appearance. But Cyrene, as a whole, redefines her norm about the ring in the process of claiming her own existence. Taking Cyrene and Demiurge separately can be very objectifying but Cyrene as a whole, to Love, decides what these very patriarchy norms means to her. Hopefully I got everything right.

And Cyrene can represent a new idea of the Holy Trinity with the Mother (Demiurge/Agape), the Lover (Mem/Eros, her first proof of agency for her love for Amphoreus) and the Friend (Peach/Philia or more likely Eros too).

How does Robin summeretto perform with mpds cyrene

I got e1 evernight, e6s1 artillereney and e0 hyacine. I wanted to ask if investing in robinetto is a good move to free up my rmc in terms of e0s1. If anyone could shed some light that would be super awesomesauce

I kinda find it hard because the extra rmc ult for cyrene is a great addition, but robinetto also has crazy aa and everything else that looks like itll help with cyrene stacks
