(new Anime leak) So what do you think about this and what are your theories about what's going to get animated?
I'm a bit lazy so I'll just copy my comment from under the leak where I kinda explained my thoughts already.
Honestly, as an Aether main I'm quite happy for Lumine mains. It's about time that they also get a W.
However I am honestly a bit surprised that the anime supposedly just follows the game in terms of story and am quite curious how they handle all the side quests.
Only taking the dialogue and cutscenes of the Archon quests into consideration Mondstadt & Liyue could both be wrapped up in 1 season with a total of 366 minutes or 6,1 hours. That's roughly equivalent to 17 episodes assuming each episode is 22 minutes (not including a potential intro + outro yet)
That is a bit too long for a typical 1 course anime but also too short for a 2 course first season. Of course this can be filled with the puzzles and fights outside of cutscenes since they aren't included above however I'm not sure if they're enough to fill in the roughly 7 missing episodes.
I don't really remember what kind of world quests Liyue and Mondstadt had but...

I FORGOT ABOUT STORY QUESTS! And since Genshin is all about its characters there's no way that they'd skip those!
But the world quests have more lore relevance and I really wanna see those animated!
So either:
- A) they'll prioritize Story Quests and skip over World Quests entirely or for the most part
- B) they'll adjust the pacing in some significant ways compared to the game
- C) maybe they want ro actually EXTEND old stories so instead of combining Mondstadt & Liyue in one season they instead make season 1 exclusively revolve around Mondstadt so that they have the time to not only animate the main story, but also include Story, World & potentially Event Quests.
Personally I hope for option C especially with the most recent Archon Quest because how would they include WQ NPCs in the AQ when the WQ wasn't animated beforehand.
And I also really hope that they find some extra content for Mondstadt because there are some regions later on where a single act of the AQ is longer than the entire Mondstadt chapter!!!
+ if they animate Event stories then please have the Traveler use the sword with Durin's essence, it just looks so good!!!
