Husband’s verbal abuse towards stepson
I finished the Empowered Wife a few weeks ago and have had a lot of success with the skills so far. I realized a lot of issues between us start with me trying to control how he parents our son and my stepson. My stepson is 15 and a great kid however he does make mistakes (like all teenagers). When these things happen my husband will scream at him, call him humiliating names, and even threaten physical violence (he has not ever crossed this line). I obviously feel responsible for protecting my stepson but if/when I try to intervene it makes everything much worse. Does anyone have advice about how to use the skills to navigate these situations? For additional context my husband has full custody of his son but my stepson visits his mom for school breaks.
